What will TVXQ do?

De La Methode in Music | 06 Dec 2008 - 10:57 AM

TVXQ DBSK KPOP Korean Music

Korea's top group, TVXQ / DBSK is in a bit of a quandary. TVXQ has been invited to perform at all of Korea's end-year Music Award Shows on SBS (December 29th), KBS (December 30th), and MBC (December 31st).

At the same time, TVXQ has been invited to Kohaku, what many consider to be Japan's Top Music Award Show. Kohaku is scheduled on December 31st, which is the same day as the MBC Music Award Show. In addition, TVXQ was also invited as award winners to the 50th Japan Record Awards which occurs December 30th, which is the same day as the KBS Music Award Show.

SM Entertainment is saying that they're currently planning and deciding which award shows to attend. There's been even talks of a live performance via video conferencing. So Basically, TVXQ would be performing in Japan and a live video feed would be displayed over a big screen at the Korean Music Award Shows.

What will TVXQ Do? What they'll probably do is attend the SBS Award show on the 29th and then attend the two Japan Award shows on the 30th and 31st. After all the problems SBS has had this past year, I'm sure some of you wanted them to miss the SBS show. At the end of the day, fans shouldn't worry too much because Cassiopeia / Big East is going to see a lot of TVXQ face time at the end of the December.

that sucks. but it’s whatever.
if i was in korea, i’d be pissed.
but i feel bad for dbsk…barely have anytime for themselves.

DBSK|TVXQ oppa. It’s so bad for them. I hope they can decide. I think going to the Korean one on the 29th is good, then participating in the Japanese one on 30th and 31th is good. But then, its good if they stay in Korea because it’s close to their about 6th year anniversary and TVXQ day on the 23rd. So I hope they can decide. Whatever they decide, Cassiopeia and BigEast will always support them!

TT-TT Poor boys…that’s going to be SO MUCH FLYING in like three days. I’m pretty sure they’ll attend Kohaku. It’s one of the biggest events in Japan, and they’re pretty excited about it. I sure hope they rest well and use plane time to sleep.

Ganbatte/Fighting DBSK~!

<s>They MUST ATTEND KOHAKU! (Because we have NHK XP)</s>

What ever they do, I’m fine with it.
I Just hope they won’t get too stressed out :/

They’ve been confirmed to attend Kouhaku at 31st and the japan award show on the 30th.

The problem now is only with the music festival in Korea. SM is currently under negotiation for them to willing broadcast DBSK through satellite from Japan (like they do with SG Wannabe).

I think the only award show on the list is the 5Oth Japan Record Awards (TBS) on the 30th where TVXQ won one of twelve GOLD AWARDS(this is the top award show that you’re referring to). SBS, MBC and KBS end of the year gayo shows are akind to a music festival type of show rather than an award show.

So is KOHAKU (NHK). Although people tend to see it as such because an invitation to perform there is as good as winning an award. NHK broadcasts the show simultaneously over TV and radio worldwide via its cable and satellite partners and affiliates. Usually gets an average of 50 percentile ratings.

Gosh. Lose-lose situation, eh?
Well Big East and Cassies seem fine with each other so there shouldn’t be any dispute between them. I would just go to Kohaku. Then again it depends on which country they’ll promote more in next year…
Idk =/

they’ll probably go to japan after having their dearest government censoring their songs..
plus with the new japanese single and all.. more japan promo = more $.
now what’d be awesome was if korea’s tv stations changed their schedule to accommodate the shinkis <333 X’D

kashfia's avatar

Totally crazy schedule….. no wonder these artists get admitted to hospitals from exhaustion so frequently….. how is it possible to travel back and forth from korea to japan and perform and keep a squeeky clean image??!!!
Seriously these ppl have some major enegery boosters working for ‘em.

They must focus in Kohaku and the Japan Record Awards.
After 3 years of hard work, its fair and I think more fullfilling for them like artists, just like the 460,000 album sales are in Korea.

cutieroo's avatar

aww… poor guys.
Focusing on attending the Japanese awards is way more important though I think.

I know thats its better for the boys to be in Japan. But, I really feel for the Korean Cassies, even though they are behind the boys 100% , they are bound to be dissapointed. Because, these end of the year shows are A HUGE DEAL. And, via video isn’t the same as a live performance.

no avatar

i think they should stay. i mean come on, take a break from japan and let korea have some more time with you guys. D:

people are saying that they should attend SBS one since their free on the 29th. But you people forget..REHERSAL for KOHAKU. Its a VERY important show and usually they require you to rehersal a day or two ahead. I find it so stupid how fans are always saying “they look so tired…SM should give them rest/time off” and here you guys are saying, they should attend SBS Gayo, fly to japan, and rehearse for kohaku all in matters less than 24 hours, AND THEN attend Kohaku the next day? Forget them just being pyhsically tired, their VOCALS will be worn out too.

Heladofrito's avatar

Wow! Hmm… I say they should attend Kouhaku for sure since that’s kind of a big deal in Japan. Not only that but this is the first year that they’ve been invited to it. Ahhh~ whatever they decide to do is going to leave them exhausted. Poor guys ;___;

no avatar

they should NEVER EVER miss kouhaku under ANY circumstances. i dont think they will ever want that anyways.
they should just do what they did to SG Wannabe.
so theyd get rest AND theyd be ALMOST like in the show lol
DARN award shows!!! just change your schedules if u want the shinkis!!

no avatar

Ah success. The Cassies have had TVXQ for some time now, with no shortage of appearances live or otherwise. In the end they should understand the enormity of this Japanese opportunity to highlight Korea, and see it as their success too.

cimberleigh12's avatar

aww. poor DBSK. crazy schedule. they really are popular. oh well. ill support them in any ways and now matter what. hope theyll get a rest after everything.

anyways,  changmin looks good in the pic.he is so cute. as well as the other mem. lol.  saranghae DBSK.. hwaiting!

Poor DBSK they’re gonna be so tired flying back and forth between Korea and Japan. I think they should attend the award shows in Japan though since they’ve been working for a long time to get that type of recognition over there. I feel bad for the Cassiopeias who want to see them preform live at the end of the year though. Lets just hope MBC(it was them right) doesn’t ban SM artist from their programs like last time because of this. You know how they are. <.<

awwww. Seems like it’s going to end up an exhaustive situation no matter what happens O.o aw, boys.
I think they should stick to Japanese awards this year’s end, because they’ve had a major year there and Kohaku/JRAs are a serious deal O.o
Whatever they end up doing, good luck to the boys and let’s hope they stay on top of things to deliver their usual amazing performances <33

This sounds like quite the dilemma. On the one hand, kohaku is a big deal for their Japanese careers, but it would almost be like a slap in the faces to all the Korean fans if they don’t show up to any of the year end awards.

It seems like SM is gonna go with Japan right? Well, that pretty much tell you where DBSK’s focus is gonna be for the future. They’ve pretty much achieved everything they can in Korea so even though they came back for the forth album, it seems like their minds are set on Japan for the long term.

kawaiiangel's avatar

wow…i wonder what they’re going to do??

no avatar

Kouhaku will be a big stepping stone for their Japanese career so I’m glad they’re at least attending that one. I don’t really care about the Korean shows, but it would be a treat for their Korean fans to have DBSK there.

musicislove's avatar

aw. it’s bad for them either way. =(
and fans are going crazy over this eh? poor DBSK. i hope SM makes a wise decision.
