V.I.P. Overflow Cancels Big Bang's

Apparently, you can be too popular, as Big Bang found out at the first fan-event celebrating their debut Japanese single "My Heaven". The event was located at the Tokyo Odaiba's Venus Port Church square, which has a capacity of 400 people. But, due to the massive hype surrounding Big Bang's Japanese endeavors, an estimated 2,000 fans showed up to the event, rushing past security to get as close to the onomatopoeia five as possible. The overwhelming crush of the crowd caused the stage managers to cancel the event after only five minutes, in which Big Bang could only perform "My Heaven".

Here's a Japanese news report of the whole debacle, courtesy of mamindragon:

It's fortunate that no crushing occurred, but did Big Bang's promoters really think only 400 people were going to come see the group's first fan-event for their first Japanese single? If 2,000 fans showed up for this, who knows how much commotion there will be over the 10,000 seats for their Tokyo Dome event. Good to see that the boys are popular in Japan though, and hopefully their Japanese journey will continue with similar, but more controlled fervor.

I feel bad for the fans.
They must have waited a long time to meet Big Bang to have the event cancelled…
I know I’d be bummed out if I were them.
On the bright side, it’s nice to know that Big Bang is very welcome in Japan ^^

LOL what a thinking, hah capacity of 400 where is their organizers mind? LOL very funny as in funny. They should think that maybe they have a lots of fans coming to watch them. tsk tsk they only make thier fans frustrated about this, they might produce negative negative negative impact to their fans. I mean not the BB but their oragnizers. But amazig ha!!!
Sorry for their fans who waited too long to see BB

Oh DAMN!! That’s a massive group of people! Whoever organized this event is simply stupid. Even the name Big Bang already tells you how large of a group will attend. tsk tsk tsk. I hope they reschedule the event for all those fans. It should be an outside venue. The bigger the better. =]

From what I’ve read, wasn’t the Tokyo Dome event a false rumour?

That’s so scary!! But, it shows how popular they are XD I have a feeling they are going to do very well in Japan.

AMAZING. haha, no joke, Big Bang’s popularity in Japan is BIG.  Cheers for the boys working hard promoting their music. Anticipate the Go Go song plus their reinitiation in the k pop world. Big Bang Fighting, B]

coldheartbaby's avatar

Ooh, that’s good that they have a lot of fans in Japan! But really now, a venue with a capacity of only 400? XD Hopefully the organizers learn their lesson and next time is better. Also feel kind of bad for the fans that must’ve waited for them for a long time and then had to settle for only one song~ I would’ve gone too if I lived in Tokyo, LOL.

sweetless.skye's avatar

amazing. should’ve opened up for a bigger crowd..there’s no way they believed that no more than 400 would show up

BBSHINKI's avatar

WHOA O.O 400 to 2,000!!! thats cool for BIG BANG (MORE LOVE), but sad for some of the fans who were awaiting Big Bang’s arrival, only to have it canceled cuz of the huge crowd. xD but seriously did the fanmeeting organizers think that just 400 fans would show up?!

@12, this is about and only BIG BANG, don’t bring TVXQ in this. xD

no avatar

I don;t like Mister T.O.P’s hair !

:O thats sad to hear!

I want to go to Japan…...............................

bunny-army's avatar

Hooray for Big Bang! Just think how crowded Tokyo Dome will be! As much as I love my Yamapi, I think Big Bang is gonna bring a bigger crowd than his group NEWS (:

no avatar

hahah. definitely underestimated the number of fans. But that just means that they’re incredibly popular in Japan as well. GO BIG BANG!

no avatar

I knew they would be a hit, but it’s unfortunate they had to cancel their performance. 400 people? Really, the managers have very little faith in these guys.

no avatar

@39 i think not 12 it’s @ 20 my dear and i think what she/he ment is be as big or better or popular as TVXQ.
@20 i’m a right?
Wow!!!!! but organizers sucks loosers. Do it in a Big Dome
BB good for you guys
