1st of all, arashi sales of 135,000 is more or less normal for one a-side single. the two previous singles which crossed 200,000 first day sales are both double-a side singles hence 2 limited editions, thus more sales.

2nd of all, arashi have a lot going on right now. this is their third single this year, another concert tour starting, and a best of album to be released. so arashi fans tend to prioritize the concert and album more than this single. so having this much sales despite everything else is actually a good thing.

3rd of all, so what if arashi are idols? that actually ranks them much higher than just artists because they can do so much and do it well - release singles/albums, have concerts, act in dramas/movies, regularly appear in tv shows and variety shows as a group and individually.

4th of all, je as a company might care about making money, but the idols only earn a salary plus they don’t accept gifts from fans. the idols’ lifestyles don’t change much before and after debuting/becoming popular.

LOL at dbsk fans for being happy dbsk’s first day sales reached 94,000. for a group boasting with 800,000 fan club members plus international fans, that figure SHOULD be an embarrassment. dbsk even had five versions of one single once but that didn’t even get them good sales, right? also, dbsk should be good artists since they can’t do anything else. not that they didn’t try, they act every now and then but they’re just not good enough. and if it’s love for money, then that would be synonymous with dbsk. after all they debuted in japan and stayed there even if it means sacrificing their music to cater to a specific public demand just to earn money. because admit it, their standard of lifestyles improved so much ever since they’ve been in japan. stupid retard fans should read and be informed before saying anything.

Dear ranhime (#203) I totally understand what you mentioned about Arashi. (Someone has already explained it clearly.) But I think you don’t understand DBSK enough. First of all, 800,000 fan club members is the figure in Korea which means they rarely buy Tohoshinki CDs and even so I don’t think that will be count in the Oricon Chart. (You can see this in wiki; they seperate the Japanese Sales and Korean Sales in the same japanese single.I am not sure whether they reproduce the japanese single to sell in Korea or not.) For international fans, some of them still buy Tohoshinki stuff through some channel which is not count in Oricon Chart; for example, yesasia. I am, myself, waiting for the single to have licence and reproduce in my own country. Luckily, we have that legally, but still you have to wait for a few months before it releases. It is rational, right? Sorry to bother you. I just want to point out some fact too. Anyway, I am the one who don’t think that DBSK must surpass Arashi anytime soon. Although I am not in Japan, but I have a friend who lives there and understand Japanese entertainment industry. I understand that sometimes, hardcore fan’s comments might be irritating. Sorry for that. But as long as they don’t bashing the other, I think that’s fine. (At least for me ^^)

Oh another thing, to the statement in (#203)Tohoshinki has never released 5 versions of 1 single. I think you misunderstood some fact here. There is a song called TRICK which they mixed all 5 songs together. That 5 songs came from 5 singles of individual members of Tohoshinki.

we as are fan who follow their aktiviti in japan are happy with they achivement because it improve from the previous sale, can’t we happy for that. dbsk has 800.000 member of fanclub in korea not in japan, why do u compare the sale in japan with the korean fan club. korean fan probly buy korean version cd that not count in japan oricon chart and some international fan also buy at some website that dosen’t count on orico chart to, i have to wait for the cd or dvd to be sale at my country and it took 5 or 6 month. u don’t have to say bad think about them, if u don’t like them. i don’t like boyband like arashi etc especialy japanese boyband since my younger year around (smap/kinki kid era) but i think they handsome that all and i don’t say bad thing about them. i like that they active in japan because it show that they have improve in singing and their lifestyle : ), i first fall in love with the voice because of there japenes song not their korean song. their are accapela dance group so they can sing dance song or ballad song or other song. they don’t sacrifi anything, they can sing any type of song that why i like them. @ Arashi fans - LOL, I find each and every one of your proud little essaies there elaborating on Arashi’s latest activities ridiculously unnecessary. Frankly, none of us gives a flying cow’s ass if Arashi’s holding a concert on the moon tomorrow, nor do we care if Arashi sells a gazilliong albums. This isn’t about Arashi, or C-ute, or whoever the heck else was on the friken oricon chart. Last time I checked, this is a TOHO article in a KPOP site, and us dbsk fans are happily celebrating this latest achievement. They’re doing amazingly well in Japan, and we’re all happy and congratulating them on their success. Yet some dumbass Arashi fans, for some strange, strange reason, decides to take offence from every little toho achievement and feels the need to belittle them at every given opportunity by comparing them to Arashi. It’s almost as if you feel threatened and angry at thsk for recieving so much attention that you act so desperately to feign Arashi’s ‘superiority’ over thsk. If not, then please do refrain from acting like the foolish little fangirls that you are.

On a side note, I do not see why it’s so important for dbsk to beat Arashi in popularity. They have already ‘breaten’ Arashi in terms of skill and musical credibility as artists years ago, and that’s what’s important. I would rather have thsk respected as actual musicians than be a flashy idol group with their ‘costumes’ and microphone kissing actions, as one dumbfuck once suggested dbsk should start doing if they wanted to be as popular as je bands. And I have noticed, everytime someone says a JE band can’t sing for shit, the only argument anyone ever comes up with is verbal diaherra in one form or another emphasizing how many dramas or whatever other activities they’ve got completely irrelevant to what they’re actually supposed to be, SINGERS. And i have watched their dramas, they’re mediocre actors at best, so don’t give me any crap about how awesome their acting is -.- In reality, they’re just ENTERTAINERS, overhyped into mega-popularity by JE. And also keep in mind how many years they’ve each been active in Japan and which group are FOREIGNERS coming from another country with A DIFFERENT LANGUAGE. & I honestly have the faith that even with these obstacles and setbacks, thsk have the ability to ultimately rise above any given JE band over time. (I can hope) I know I’m speaking dangerously here, but a shock back down to reality for you Arashi fans who’s got your heads stuck in the clouds will do you some good.

You can’t judge how good an artist is by their sales (e.g. shuchishin, they can’t sing at all yet their music sell like hotcakes. They have great personalities though).
There are too many underrated artists due to a lack of promotion and packaging etc.
Even now Tohoshinki still has not appeared on popular programs such as Utaban on their own.
