TVXQ “Stand By You” debuts at number 2, big sales

TVXQ / DBSK / Tohoshinki's newest Japanese single, "Stand By You" debuted at number 2 on the Oricon Daily Singles chart today with a sales figure of a whopping 94,838 units! Arashi was the only one who beat them by releasing "Everything," Arashi had a sales figure of 135,053 units! There was a big dropoff after these two heavyweights as 3rd place "C-ute" only achieved a sales figure of 13,446 units.

Even though TVXQ didn't come in first, they should be extremely excited. You have to keep in mind that their previous releases had no where near 100,000 sales for the first day. Their previous release, "Share The World" had around 58,000 sales on their first day and around 98,000 for the first week. This new single almost achieved the previous weekly figure in a day. Congratulations and hope for continued success for TVXQ in Japan. Thanks to Kathy Chester and ray for the tips.

Good for DBSK. They might even reach 150-180K this week. :D As a side note, those sales figures are pretty weak for Arashi…. at least compared to their last two singles or so. Probably won’t crack 500K by the end of the month.

Those aren’t great sales for Arashi. 100K lower than their last single’s first day. I knew it would be lower but not this low.
Congrats Tohoshinki! Hope to see them cross the 100K mark in one day in the future! A lot of japanese people will hate them if they beat Arashi

Arashi has done better. Their previous two singles sold over 200,000 in the FIRST day. TVXQ’s singles have a habit of plunging down the charts at times. Hopefully the sales are stable.

this is awesome for toho. almost equaling the weekly sales of their previous single in one day! im shocked at arashi’s 1st day sales but they will have good sales through out the week whereas toho’s sales tend to drop A LOT after first 2 days.

but arashi or any johnny’s group sucks in digital sales just like dbsk sucks in digital sales in korea lol. stand by u got more than 10 K downloads before the single was officially released today. previously share the world was certified gold for having more than 100 K downloads in just two months.

Maybe you can try to watch more of their programs or interviews or even songs. I guess u don’t have an in depth understanding of them yet, that’s why u don’t like them. They aren’t bad really. U might even like them afterwards.
