This seems kind of odd. Avex has pretty good artists but Johnny’s beats them at popularity (except AAA maybe). Seeing TVXQ as a threat doesn’t make much sense. Artists like News and Kat-tun always get the #1 spot regardless of who they’re competing with. Were there any other Avex artists that were banned? Because if there were then this conspiracy would seem more believable. I’ve never known a label to have THAT much power… *shrug* :/

lol, DBSK is seen as a threat. That’s actually GREAT! Means that they’re really breaking through to the Music Industry in Japn. Besides it’s Music Station’s decision if they don’t want to have 15,000 people viewing their shows. Everyone already knows that DBSK is holding a steady place in Japan, they already proven that already. One less show to go to isn’t gonna hurt them. Besides they need to rest a bit anyways, their forth album is suppose to come out next month.

Hell yea TVXQ poses a threat to Johnny’s. Like I’d do the same thing if I were the dude. Like JE is like the biggest things in Japan. The guy just can’t afford to have some korean band destroy or hinder his comp.

TVXQ must be REALLY GREAT in Japan (heck, asia) to have caught JE’s attention!

It’s not just DBSK, all boybands that are not from Johnny’s are not allowed to perform on Music Station (except for Exile and WaT~ not sure why). Look at W-inds, they’ve been around since 2001 and they have never been on Music Station once, however Keita Tachibana was allowed to perform on MS when he released solo album. Same goes for Lead, Flame, and all the other boybands that are not from JE. The only way I see for DBSK to be able to get on MS is if they stop dancing, because then they wouldn’t be considered a boyband anymore. Or if they get popular enough where TV Asahi can’t afford to not have them on. But I doubt this will happen. As much as I like DBSK, their popularity will never surpass JE’s groups whose singles sell at least 300/400k copies while DBSK’s singles sell around 50/60k.

People have complained that its too hard to buy DBSK albums in japanese stores too. Because they have it hidden or in the foreign artist section when it should be in JPOP. They think DBSK can have even higher sales if their album wasnt so hard to find.

johnny’s entertainment apparently has a pact with the oricon chart people too. I wouldn’t be surprised honestly.

i think not having TVXQ on their show is like not wanting to have the best of the best…shows that are about music try to have artists/groups that are very popular at the moment…like one of the comments says….by having TVXQ in their show would increase their audience/viewers….if JohnnyEntertainment sees TVXQ as a threat then he knows that their groups aren’t good as they want to protray them if he doesnt want to put his groups being compared to the best….but i do think it is suspicious if nonJE groups rarely perform in MusicStation….its like MusicStation might be a platform for artists of the same company to show off and not be really compared….

JE literally owns Japan with his Idol groups. If TVXQ’s seen as a threat then we should applaud them. Means they hella popular. This should be seen as a good thing, cause yeah its unfair but what can you do? Just gotta suck it up and release more #1 singles and stick it in JE/MS’s faces cause they dont need MS to promote them. They got talent, looks, and personalitiy so screw the haters =3

Music Station is going to regret this when TVXQ becomes world freaking famous. But still, i’m glad they’re a threat to JE.
It is hard to buy TVXQ albums in japan, they hide them all in the foreign artists section. but it is considered jpop, it should be in the jpop section!

it’s not just DBSK…other boy bands or idol groups that are not Johnnies are not allowed in MS…W-inds(they’re so much better than the Johnnies), Lead, DA PUMP, and etc…they’re not allowed because Johnny doesn’t want them to…Johnny Kitagawa is one of the biggest sponsor in tv asahi and they rely on sponsorship…so obviously whatever Johnny wants they give it…
but when I realize for the first time when I saw DBSK’s new single topped their charts and thought that they won’t be invited and then JE groups perform in MS with their single not even debuting yet…I refuse in seeing any shows that JE’s are in because it’s totally unfair…idk…it’s just I love My DBSK boys more than Kame and Ryo…or Jun, Yamapi, Tackey, Yamada and etc…
and I already know that they won’t but I never know it will become such a big issue as this…and hey! the music show is freaking boring…they’re still invited in other prominent music shows like Hey!3x and Music Japan…Music Fighter, Music Fair 21, The M! and even CDTV…
and think about it DBSK one on one with JE…JE’s would flop…DBSK are taller than most, if not all, JE’s…
Junno who’s the tallest in KAT-TUN and most Johnnies is just as tall as Jae and Junsu who are shortest in DBSK…so with Changmin and Yunho…they would look like o_O don’t even add talents…because Johnnies will just die….

i love some JE boys when it comes to acting. the only JE boyband i can listen to is Tackey & Tsubasa. funny thing, theyre singles are usually produced by AVEX. ha!

I like both groups but banning TVXQ because they’re a threat doesn’t sound like a good enough reason. If that were the case, this would have started during the “Purple Line” days. Every group from Avex can’t be banned either. It just doesn’t sound right.

TVXQ has performed “Last Angel” with Koda Kumi on the November 16, 2007 Music Station before though.

@asha…I’m just saying, no wonder Johnny doesn’t want DBSK and JE’s head to head together…they don’t want DBSK in MS because they might snitch some of their fans…height is considered one of the good looks in Japan…actually, everywhere…I’m just pointing out if JE and DBSK stand together…JE’s image as “idols” would lose to DBSK and Johnny doesn’t want that…not that I’m saying DBSK are idols…that’s why I said don’t consider talents…sorry if I didn’t elaborate on that…

johnny’s is total shit. all their groups look like heroin addicts,which makes sense since statistics show many heroin addicts are also victims of sexual abuse… when i look at a johnny i dont see a pop star or performer; i see a victim.

TVXQ only performed on Music Station once, but that was when they did that collaboration with Koda Kumi. lol Figures.  It’s also kind of weird that TVXQ were allowed on Utaban too.  They just need more collaborations with popular artists, then they’ll be able to slowly work their way in, so that Music Station has no choice but the feature.

Well, there’s been a conspiracy for a long time even before THSK hit big that non JE boybands are not allowed to perform on music station.  They’re just gonna have to suck it up like the other popular non-JE boybands did and just do their thing on other music shows.  As for stores that keep putting THSK on foreign music shelves that’s just wrong.  When I went to Japan, I can easily find THSK stuff in the jpop aisle at HMV.  So if a popular store like HMV categorizes them as Jpop than other stores should too.  I don’t see what more THSK can do to be recognized as a true Jpop artist.

I don’t think it’s true. EXILE are from Rhythm Zone, they’re a boyband too and they can perform in Music Station. Japanese ppl are just jealous that KOREAN band took the first place ;D

^No they aren’t. EXILE would probably be considered an exception because they aren’t your average idol groups. EXILE doesn’t rely on fangirls to keep their popularity up, but rather they have a wider age range.

Does Yoochun have a major HUGE tattoo on his, I think right arm? I saw a performance where he had like a sleeveless shirt on and to my surprise that thing was huge.
