TVXQ KPOP Korean Music

Ok, so they aren't technically banned from Korea, but I caught your attention right?

TVXQ's "MIROTIC," has been flagged as inappropriate for minors due to its erotic/explicit lyrics. And since TVXQ's fans are mainly minors, SM Entertainment is currently under negotiations to determine a resolution.

For the time being, all instances of MIROTIC will need to be flagged with an inappropriate for minors sign, otherwise they will be fined.

Other artists' songs who have been flagged for inappropriate lyrics are Rain's "Rainism," Solbi's "Do it Do it," and Dynamic Duo's "Trust Me."

No-one censored: “I CAME BLOOD INSIDE OF HER, CHOKING ON THE CLOT, GAGGING ON THE SNOT, GUSHING BLOOD, FROM HER MOUTH.”

Mirotic and Rainism is nothing.

Only thing those people are thinking about is the that last line from Junsu: ‘You know that you go down on me’ which is one sentence I would NOT want my grandma hearing blairing from HER computer.

rairakku's avatar

lol interesting.
i think someone’s been reading too much into the lyrics
and @hiroshi:
your comment was hilarious! if only that was the case XD

lol….oh Korea, your so silly. XD

no avatar

LOL so now Korean music can’t use the word “Crystal” (=sperm?), “chrome heart” (=condom? wait..how come?), and “red ocean” (=hyemen?).

Seriously if the lyrics is literally like -goldenGaze- said, ‘Flowing through your veins running through you are millions of my Crystal’, my sex ed didn’teach me that sperms go to blood vessels.

stevewonder06's avatar

this also happened with CSJH’s first album “One More Time, Ok?” too. and yes johnny the title of the article caught my attention lol.

@#48 thats the same thing i was thinking. it’s too late to put any stickers on it cuz im sure millions of minors who are Cassies have bought the album already…lmao.

ugh. i used to like this song. i used to want to be a cassie
but the cassies i met online..most of them are big bang bashers
so i decided to just become a vip. VIPS are much more mature than cassieopeans most of the time :/ it’s pretty sad how some cassies go around saying big bang can’t sing for life. anyways good article! (:

stevewonder06's avatar

okay so i just read the lyrics (again) and i think they took the lyrics the wrong way…lol. it’s all about the way you interpret the lyrics and i think people had dirty minds. lmao. all its about is attraction…i guess but they just took overboard.

Shattered_Regrets's avatar

@steviewonder06: Yep you’re right. This article made me review the lyrics again and I don’t find anything wrong with it. I thought that they were talking about overboard cassies XD
And how can the y put stickers on the CDs if the cassies probably already bought them all? LOL
I love the timing of the flagging of this song. Right after their adorable appearance on Ootchatsa and the super hilarious “NoKy brothers” vids. DBSK is probably saying right now “WTF! We try to act cute and adorable for everyone and this is what we get? Forget it, we’re running away to France” rofl

...Really!?!? Like seriously!?!? It’s so late and I don’t think it’s explicit at all, the government needs to CHILL.

Bomi's avatar

dude what the heck is up in korea!?!? mirotic isnt even that sexual, lol, if they were to ban music here in the USA then there wouldnt be a lot of music to hear from, haha even music from the 70 80 etc. what idiots, you might as well ban certain clothes styles, WHAT A BUNCH OF DUMBOS!!!

cardinaltree's avatar

What the… this is ridiculous. Pul-leazzze. Those lyrics are child’s play. I am so confused by the Korean government right now. Especially since “Mirotic” came out forever ago, and DBSK isn’t even promoting it now LOL.

rijae's avatar

wait…Mirotic was banned because korean government’s imagination either gone wild or they can’t understand any english…=P

are they gonna ban Eat You Up too?
i mean..the lyrics are more obvious…
i jst don’t really get it..
the album already sold 300k+ copies and they ban it..
it’s like feeding someone poison and warning them
after they already ate it..
way to go Korean Government!
really smart..!

hanii's avatar

... Oh wow, I thought this song would get banned eventually though. Too bad Korea is still so conserverative. Though, DBSK has already made so much money off it. Cassie’s will find a way to buy more. I probably will anyway.

hahaha, for real?? and btw, by 19, u mean the korean or western age??

i re-read the lyrics, but i didnt find anything though… and even the mv, its not that explicit, i mean, junsu’s pelvic thrusts are just dance moves, so… yes, rainism, that’s different xDD

and why, why sooo late?? and will the ban have the effect the gov want to?? ... sheesh, outside korea, nobody buys the cds, practically everyone get it by some other ways xDD but how does it work?? they put on the cd a thing like “parental advisory” like they do in america, that’s all??

puahahaa.

uknowlover2's avatar

OMG WHATTTTTTTT?????????????

rijae's avatar

oh wait…banning EAt You Up would take more time cause all lyrics are in english..!i mean…those few english lines from Mirotic which were in English took almost a month for them to ban..Boa’s Eat you up would probably take forever! i think the KG’s in to power trip these days.. this year has been a good year for the Kmusic industry and the KG wants to have a piece of it..imagine how LSM and other music companies will try and “negotiate”...greedy much?
DBSK could always fly to Japan and leave the KG to rot…

CRiiSTaL1LoVe's avatar

So… yeah… Everyone basically said what I was gonna say.
I never even once thought of Mirotic’s lyrics to be “perverted” or “explicit.” The song is litterly nothing compared to American music. Every time I turn on the radio, there’s always a degrading/preverted/stupid song playing on the radio. Which is part of the reason why I quit and gave up on American music. The only place where you can avoid “explicit” music is to go on Radio Disney and we all know how much their music sucks…
It’s kind of stupid to be flagging the song NOW when it released about 2 months ago. I mean, wasn’t the release of Mirotic kind of a big deal? Geez… Slow, slow people these days…

no avatar

*Points and laughs at lame people’s attempts* I seriously wanted to drive down Korean’s streets and play this song on my loud speaker just to tick them off.

no avatar

@heartglass#68…

19 years old for Korean age and
18 years old for the western age..^_^V…

maybe 19 years old is the legal age in Korea since they have the tradition “age reckoning system”...

keeley;)'s avatar

that is so gay.
DBSK is awesome.
whoo cares.

musicislove's avatar

seriously the older generation koreans freak out about the smallest and most insignificant things. and not to mention 2 months after release… goodness. if they actually wanted to ban the stuff they should have done it before everyone listened to the album and the watched the videos. -_-’
in america… usually albums with lots of profanity/swear words have the parental advisory thing. and they release ‘clean’ versions of the album. america wouldn’t ban DBSK or Rain. =)

pain4bitches's avatar

er… kinda useless when they’ve already sold a lot of albums and have performed on every show available.

stupid.

Shattered_Regrets's avatar

I wonder if they’re gonna relase a “clean” version of this song…
._.

Celestine's avatar

Explicit? Please, half of the stuff that’s been banned in Korea is nowhere near explicit compared to “elsewhere” in the world and Mirotic is the last I would expect. But it’s bull anyway, so it’s not like it’s hurting anyone. Anyways, Changmin is a little cutie.

Charisma.'s avatar

This is soo funny and they are a bit too late on this as they’ve sold so many copies already.

LOL, I don’t hear anything erotic/explicit about Mirotic. To be honest I think they’re just describing fans(one of them) lol. If it’s erotic/explicit then all singers should just start singing Disney Songs and doing Disney MV…this is so freaking dumb.

no avatar

wtf?
they took this long with rainism too.
it’s already been performed HOW LONG ALREADY!?!
i mean yeah the english translation is a little naughty, but only cuz it’s them saying it and fangirls get pervy xD
i bet it’s those older people like parents and grandparents about how the song is “corrupting the youth”

no avatar

lol seriously? korea needs to chill out. maybe they should try listening to american music for a day, then they’d realize how tame their so called suggestive songs really are haha.

Leah's avatar

Ummm…I don’t see the inappropriateness of the song but its their country so its their call. I still think its ludacris though…..

rozette30's avatar

oh crap. that scared me xD lol not really but.. XD!
wow o-o;;
theirs arent as bad as rain’s =__=

pangstar's avatar

hmm./
yeah!
i congratulate them on finally becoming men :D

but hjey, the other songs didnt get this right?
excaept “rainism”

hmmm…
I’m sure Father SM will find a good solution.

Mikame's avatar

WHAA???

thats ridiculous..

the lyrics arent THAT bad, compared to music here in america

i swear they should ban AMERICAN music and put this shit instead.

-_- ive seen worse.

This shouldent be that much of a problem D:

The only part suggestive in the lyrics is Junsu’s “You go down with me”, which he changed to “You go down on me” during the performances (but that’s not in the album so who cares). For the rest of the song, you neeed a pretty good imagination (and a perverted one at that) in order to see anything explicit about it.

Whatever. If anything this will boost sales like it did with Rain and Epik HIgh.

implementing a ban would be futile, the korean government has forgotten who they are dealing with - Cassies - a fanclub synonymous for being die hards
