TVXQ Banned from Korea
156 Commentsjohnnydorama in News | 30 Nov 2008 - 02:39 PM
Ok, so they aren't technically banned from Korea, but I caught your attention right?
TVXQ's "MIROTIC," has been flagged as inappropriate for minors due to its erotic/explicit lyrics. And since TVXQ's fans are mainly minors, SM Entertainment is currently under negotiations to determine a resolution.
For the time being, all instances of MIROTIC will need to be flagged with an inappropriate for minors sign, otherwise they will be fined.
Other artists' songs who have been flagged for inappropriate lyrics are Rain's "Rainism," Solbi's "Do it Do it," and Dynamic Duo's "Trust Me."

It’s really annoying..
No one would think of the song so deeply…

hahaha.. interesting… but isn’t it too late to be negotiating!!?!!... everyone already saw the MV and heard the song…
and its not like those minors have never been exposed to erotic/explicit lyrics and other you know whats .... they already bought the albums, so they can listen to them anytime anywhere…
i think its also because of their sexy dance moves..

Err…wtf?
A song about a man’s over confidence and ego isnt erotic.
Korea might as well ban all American songs since it’s all about sex or whatnot.
What has the world come to….

Lol thats just gonna make them sell more albums. Most of the albums who were flagged as 19+, after they were flagged the sales increased by a lot. Its not going to stop any Cassies from buying the album since you can buy it online even if you arent 19+, but curious people are going to buy it just to see WHY its flagged as inappropriate.
Well i think its stupid to put a age limit AFTER 2 months of releases and when hundreds of thousands of teenagers already got their hands on the album PLUS sawa bizillion live performaces of it on TV. And those people who thought its “inappropriate” has too much time on their hands to think crystal=sperm.

I think the government’s been getting attention for banning Rain’s song, so now they’re banning other songs too to make it look less selective and biased.
What are the offensive lyrics in Mirotic, anyway?

And P.S. Korea DID ban 7x american songs and 3x korean songs. Those songs were also put under a 19+ limit.

for real, Solbi’s “Do It Do It” was flagged?? LOL what are the lyrics like?
i don’t think Mirotic is explicit at all! then again, i’m from the US where sexually explicit songs are like the norm…

FYI the government also banned other western song not just Mirotic and korean song.
But honestly, to think that crystal=sperm?? Where the hell that it comes from.
So from now on, the song writer should write the song as it is. No connotation cause maybe people will take it wrong.
How about minor girls dancing on tv with short skirt? And what about 2pm 10 out of 10? SHINee Amigo? They not gonna banned that also?
This is getting ridiculous.
Anyway, with Kouhaku coming around I don’t think anything bad related to them bother me that much anymore. It’s Kouhaku… KOUHAKU!!!!

Actually this is what happened. The men on the board was feeling rather unhappy after seeing hints that their wives have been reserving affectionate ogles for DBSK on TV and didn’t pay attention to them nor cooked them dinner. Instead they spent quality time on dbng, daum, or naver getting the newest updates on DBSK and even made their own little network to gather in order to work on DBSK projects. The latest bombshell revealed to the men on the board that their wives have been Cass members. I think this shocking revelation pushed them over the edge and all hell broke loose. So this is the result.

right, cause they’re totally talking about sex slaves and what not D;
geez, those officials should take a chillpill, teens can’t be any more corrupted. banning a song and filming 10 explicit yaoi movies… way to go.
that’ll just make them go to japan sooner, where they can work for the big bucks.

wth, seriously? cuz I don’t think it’s that inappropriate… honestly, American music is WAY worse and people who have so much time to analyze what the lyrics CAN mean have no life.
and Solbi’s “Do it Do it”? wtf. I understand why Rain’s would be termed inappropriate but Solbi’s didn’t even seem inappropriate.

uh…Hiroshi…you’ve GOT to be kidding me. That can’t be the reason. That’s just down right ridiculous. I mean damn DBSK are great but not to the extent where husbands literally feel threatened. if it’s true then that’s just very sad. those housewives need a reality check cause dbsk isn’t checking for them like that
and lol this is just crazy. and they’re banning it like several months after its release. the guys already have the biggest selling album of the year. smh.

As for the article, if what happened to Rain’s cd is an indication, this will only help the sale of DBSK’s cd, also.

LOL! i Understood why they banned Rainism, the whole magic stick and shaking body business did give me dirty ideas should i say(muhahahaha) but Mirotic and Solbi’s do it do it? You gotta be kidding me right, some people are reading into the lyrics too much man. Anyways its far too late to ban the song since everyone has already hear it too many times.

The title is very mis-leading! lol but I read about this yesterday and I’m still going WTF! This album has been out a month now with a new version as well, the song has been over-played, DBSK has a new single out now and it’s only NOW they want to put it for 19+?
A bit too late, don’t you think?

What’s the point now, anyway? It’s already been sold and spread out throughout the country. If they really care or pay attition, they could have flagged it as an inappropriate the minute it was out. Not just DBSK’s song but also Rain’s! They really are slow when it comes to this!

Mirotic is a children’s song compared to some American songs. And i gotta say that Rainism’s connotations were a lot more blunt then mirotic. I didn’t really pick up on anything to bad, and most people wouldn’t sit their and analyze the lyrics like the government.

Uhm…this song has been out for 2 months already.
They did numerous perfs of it.
The MV has be viewed a countless number of times.
And now they wanna flag it?
Korean Government fail.
And srsly, you have to be MIGHT PERVY to think crystal = sperm and red ocean = a woman’s hymen. If it was inappropriate, the chorus would be “I am…under your skin” Now that’s inappropriate.
Geez, they really should check the minds of fangirls nowadays (take a look at all the fanvids of the guys…yeah you know what I mean *coughJaehoYoosulovecough* XDD) Fangilrs these days probably have dirty thoughts of DBSK’s Balloons vid lmfao
Well I wanna see how this turns out…

Censorship is retarded, and it’s a bit late as well. Noone in America censored Cannibal Corpse for singing “I Cum Blood” or Tenacious D for singing “Fuck Her Gently.“ Koreans are prudes who are too stuck in tradition.
