Trot Singers Boycott MAMA
This year, one of Korea's biggest entertainment channels MNET revealed that instead of holding their annual MKMF Awards, they will come back to their viewers with MAMA instead. But as usual, when there is an awards ceremony, there are bound to be controversies among nominees.
This year, some of the biggest trot singers like Park Hyun Bin, Jang Yoon Jung and Wink, who are all under the company Inwoo, are boycotting the awards ceremony and there's a high possibility of the stars not attending.
The reason behind this boycott is because although Jang Yoon Jung has been promoting her song 'I Like You' since the start of 2009, she was eliminated from the 'Best Trot Song' category despite her song ranking 1st in many online charts. Not only that but MNET has not been airing the trot singers' music videos on their channel.
