Whoever wrote this is racist, anti-Asian, and/or hates his/her own skin color.  This blog is about Korean music, right?  So what’s this “Engrish” crap?  Stop writing about Korean music if you hate the language and culture.

I was never into Korean entertainment before.  Kim Hyun Joong’s extraordinary charisma caught my interest when BOF was shown in my home country two months ago.  Through him, I came to know several celebrities in WGM, SS501 and singers in various variety shows.  Basically, KHJ introduced me not only to SS501 but also to other idol groups and other Korean performers.  I know that there are a number of my countrymen who appreciate now the Korean entertainment industry because of KHJ/BOF since we discussed the same thing in our local forums.

For that, KHJ deserves to be given a credit.

actually, it is true that HJL brought a lot of popularity for the group and i started really to divide my time between ss501 and suju because of we got married but people can’t also deny the fact that the other members especially the ss501 project group (YS, HJbaby and KJ) did also contribute to the popularity, U R Man can be compared to their other songs that have topped the charts like 4chance and stuff, and JM in grease as the lead actor also did help, its just that leader was the one on the media all the time because of BOF. but yeah it is true that young saeng has the most fans in all age ranges waay before leader

I came to know and love double s because of him. Maybe someone who is an anti is not the best pick to write about this. This was a moment to be happy for them and you crapped all over it. What group are you so jealous for that you think they should have gotten the honor instead? I think double s is the right pick. They are loved by people of all ages, not just a narrow age group.

HJ is the Eric Mun or Kimu Taku or even the JaeJong of SS501. You can’t deny the fact that…just a couple of months ago, before WGM, you guys didn’t even write articles about SS501

KHJ got it all. don’t get me wrong here..i love SS501, and i too came to know… and love… not only them but also the other korean entertainer bcz of KHJ. He was lucky to be cast in bof and with his talent and charm and charisma (agreed w/ 154) , has brought recognition to himself and his band.  He deserves the credit…

It’s not his fault!!!  all TRUE TripleS know’s that leader doesn’t want to be famous as JIhoo or Kim hyun joong, but as KIM HYUN JOONG LEADER OF SS501!!!  CHECK your facts right!  you can say that it’s unfair, that the other members don’t get the same attention as HJL, but you can’t say it’s his fault!!!  if you says it’s HJL fault, are you also saying that it’s nickhun’s fault that the other member’s of 2pm doesn’t get as much attetion as he does?!

hmm, Well. Yes i have to agree with you. I’m getting annoyed with the whole hyunjoong craze. #_#. And the others boys don’t get their limelight. Everything is all about hyunjoong. The Sub Unit group did great ! “U R Man” even hit 1 mil. views in youtube. I love SS501 , but i’m starting to get all annoyed because the other 4 members doesn’t get their limelight. :/

Yes..he cannot speak english very well, and yes, his voice isn’t d best in d group..but u can’t deny d fact dat he brings even more fan for SS501..myb d term ‘main factor of all ss501’s success’ is wrong *other members had done their part well too..* but it is an indisputable fact dat HJL bring even more ppl to know n love SS501..

i’m guilty as one of those people that started liking SS501 b/c of hyunjoong & his appearance in WGM + BBF. i feel so bad for the other members though..but i think hyunjoong DID make the group more popular, even though the others also contributed to SS501’s success. :] hopefully they’ll let some of the other members take the spotlight though. it can’t just always focus on him.

LESSON 101: Early 2008, Hyun Joong admitted that SS501 album did not sell as expected so he joined “We Got Married”.  Because of WGM, he was noticed and casted in “Boys Over Flowers”.  Be realistic people, if Hyun Joong did not join WGM and BOF, would SS501 be as popular as it is today?  Do you believe that U R Man Triple-S is so proud of would get as much as interest as it had when it came out?  When people came to know HJ, SS501 benefited.  JHJ worked hard and sacrificed his health for this success but he never take sole credit so anti-KHJ enough already ..including Triple S anti KHJ!  Give credit when it is due and blame the right parties not KHJ!

I am one of the fans who get to know SS501 because of BBF and WGM
I only notice UR Man when I saw a YT video where Hyung Joong rehearsing the UR Man dance. Bottomline KHJ introduce me to SS501. I think he done a good job in helping his group to gain popularity. Regarding the other members not giving the limelight, I think the media is to blame not KHJ, in my observation in interview and events KHJ try to let the other member talk and have a camera exposure more. I often see him on the sideline when I expect that a leader must always stay in the center.

i guess you’re not a fan period! whatever praises khj are getting from everybody right now is what he earned from his pure hard work. It’s not that he’s asking for all the glamour that he’s getting right now, it’s just people appreciate him much. It’s still odd for me that korean group has a so-called leader, but nonetheless that’s what khj is doing….representing his group members…Fortunately, khj is not an arrogant and selfish leader. He is still down to earth, simple man. Hopefully, people would realize that he’s just doing his job the best he can!

Maybe, HyunJoong just got to raise their popularity MORE than the others. He is the leader remember? Maybe that’s the reason why.
And, it’s not his fault that the spotlight’s always focused on him. He is this successful because he worked hard for it. He even collapsed several times. He is a very hardworking leader, actor and singer. So….why blame him?? Hahaha!!

I noticed & recognised SS501’s beautiful & talented acapella through the proposal at the housewarming in WGM. If HJ hadn’t insisted the member to participate, I don’t think I’d have the chance to see them sing - which I think they’re not supposed to promote themselves without proper negotiations. Anyway, HJ’s decision to join WGM & BOF had sure been a struggle for a shy person like him. Of course, we can’t put all credits on HJ since the other members are also talented; but for sure that the ‘Ssangchu Couple’ had been the turning point that then leads to all the fame & popularity that follows.

Regarding the love confession moment - the ‘natural’ flows of love that wins all the viewers’ heart…........

I am totally disgusted by the fans of SS501 who only like SS501 because Hyun Joong was popular in BOF and WGM and stuff! Although I agree that this article is a bit harsh on Hyun Joong, this article has led me to thinking lots of things. Who are the people who totally just want to support SS501 because of HJL? I am not a big fan of HJL but this is just totally sickening! Although I do want SS501 to have more and more fans but seriously! Despite the fact that HJL is so popular these days, having those fans who only want to support them because of that one person - do they actually think they are true SS501 fans? You know if those fans meet HJL one day and tell him ‘I like you from BOF and WGM and I like you way better than the others’ how do you guys think HJL will feel? The people those fans are comparing him to are his true brothers and maybe even his closest of his closest buddies! If you had a sister or brother and you are very close to them, would you like being compared to them? HJL would probably be thinking ‘instead of praising me, you hurt me.’ He would still smile and say thanks since he shows affection towards his fans but inside all of SS501 members’ hearts they all don’t mind having less fans than another member. Do those fans know why? Because they are all very close friends and because the other four of them will be there for the one when the one is in trouble, they don’t mind if one is less popular than the other. All they care about is for ‘SS501’ to be popular. If you asked each of them their wish, a wish for SS501 to be worldwide known is always included and is never forgotten. Most of the five wouldn’t even tell you that they want their name to be known worldwide. Do those fans know why? Because they all stand up for each other, and because of such a deep relationship, they wouldn’t mind being less popular than the others. Even DBSK/TVXQ fans would know that after five people debut, they will become like brothers. I am very distressed… TT_TT
