I agree with #9,  and 12. Indeed a bit harsh. kim hyun joong alone is not the source of their success. SS501 ALTOGETHER are a successful group, and they sing wonderful songs, which is why I love them a lot.

. uhmmm #102..Looks like you don’t have a good grasp of the english language as well. Most people acknowledge that the culprit is the media and the intention of the article. They are just voicing their opinions in that they dont think it’s KHJ fault. But the part that they disagree with the writer is that he is too harsh on KHJ with the last sentence.  He might not be the most talented but his popularity did help SS501 gain more recognition. I do feel bad that the other members are being treated that way.  Get your facts straight before you judge.

you know what… ever since we noticed that this site is tad bit biased with other bands. if other bands ever make actions such as cough you post immediately but then on other bands such as ss501 you dont. we dont care about it though talk about ALL kpop

he (HJL) never said that he is the reason for SS501’s success because he always introduce himself as HJL of SS501. He even said in a lot of interviews that SS501’s fame is because of every member of the group and not only to one individual. Its not his fault that he is more known now. He deserved it after all the hard work in BOF.!!! Every triple S member has their own idol and not only on hyun joong leader. Its equal in our fanclub.!!!

i absolutely agree with @11. The media is to blame. Its not like HJL go and tell people SS501 success is all because of him. Its the media who claim such things. HJL is such a good leader. Park Jun Min, Heo Young Saeng, Kim Kyu Jong and Kim Hyung Joon all play their part very well and its not like every Triple S got the hots for HJL only.

Look, I agree that giving HyunJoong the credit isn’t fair for the rest of the members, but stop blaming KHJ for something he has no control of -_-. It’s the media, NOT him. So all the ones bashing on him need to think about what they’re saying before they make ASSES out of themselves. (pardon my language). Seriously, I am also one of the fans who found out about SS501 through KHJ in BOF and WGM. Leader has always put his members before him. In one of the videos it showed that someone had to pul him up next to his members because he stood behind them letting them have their moments.

If not for the success of KHJ in Boys Over Flowers, I doubt any of us would have heard much about SS501.  So, lets be realistic about the contribution of KHJ to the group.  Of course, we all like all of the team members of SS501!

I’m sorry that they find KHJ’s popularity is sickening, well we’re all entitled to his or her opinion, but the fact that Kim HYUN JOONG is getting popular you can’t stop that, and KHJ remained very humble he always include SS501 in all his interviews as a group. He never flaunts toeveryone that he is popular. You just have to face the facts that his name is popular even outside korea, even in Hawaii,canada because of “BOF” and “WGM”, he wsa even hesitant to accept “WGM” adn “BOF” before because he knows he’s not an actor he is a singer,but he did it because he wants to do it so that SS501 will become even mor popular,let’s accept it. SS501 had many fans but after"WGM” adn “BOF” they gain more and more popular and that’s because of KHJ.
Your comment is so way,way harsh, I hope the one who commented this post, you have good singing voice, and you know instruments and popular adn you have lots of record albums that are all platinum to say that.

I knew nothing about SS501 until I watched Kim Hyun Joong in WGM & BOF. I love and adore all five members. This post is way too unfair for KHJ. He’s talented, and he has a good heart. Antis/haters, rest your cases! Anyway, congrat to SS501

awww, this article’s a bit harsh on hyun joong. I’m pretty sure he wasn’t the main factor to SS501’s success, but he did contribute a lot to it =T it’s okay, they’re ALL successful so that’s all that counts ^_^ ..

To the writer of this article.. Seem u hate hyunjoong so much. What did he do? Did he control the media to write everything about him? It’s the media who want to focus on him but you blamed and bashed him for something he has no control of. Everybody know in music industry musical talent is not the only factor that make a singer popular. As hyunjoong fans I knew that he is not the best singer in the group, but a lot of people became ss501 fans because of hyunjoong.

It is just unfair to say that leader is the “key of the success” of SS501 because the group was already popular before Boys Over Flower. Sure the drama increase the number of fans but Triple S also did really well on their own side.
Even before Boys Over Flower, SS501 was in the top 3 korean boy group and has already a very big fan base around the world. So I don’t like to see people saying such kind of thing !

What most of you seems unwilling to acknowledge is the fact that with KHJ appearing in WGM and BOF, SS501’s popularity has increased more than before. I am a non-Korean living in the Western Hemisphere who became a fan (FIRST of Kim Hyun Joong, THEN of SS501, and THEN of other KPOP artists) by watching Boys Over Flowers. I actually love all of SS501 members, not just KHJ. @38. “He maybe the most popular but he is NOTHING without the boys.” Seems to me that you became Triple S member esp. not because of KHJ but for 1 specific member other than him; otherwise you wouldn’t bash him so much. What I’m trying to say is, Of Course SS501 was already a success before KHJ’s TV/Drama projects and with it he brought more fans into the fold. That is the case with any band though, there is one member that always stands out. Facts of Life.

If the case was reversed, and if other member had solo project that garnered more media attention, you all would be just as hateful of the others as you are now of KHJ.

I love SS501 and I don’t really think there is any resentment on the part of the other members toward leader KHJ.  I am sure they understand why he is being put forward by the media, he’s not out there promoting by himself.  He always seems to be uncomfortable when the spotlight is only focused on him and excludes the others.  But his acting in Boys before Flowers is what exposed me to SS501 and I will forever be grateful for that.  They are all talented and very, very handsome.  How could anyone have anything against them.  SS501 Fighting!!!!!!

If you’re a true fan of SS501, you will realize that all single members of the group contributes in their success. Just so happen Kim Hyun Joong is the most popular member at the moment due to his drama exposure, but that doesn’t mean he’s taking all the credit of the group’s success. In fact you will noticed he’s one of the most humble guy there is, during fan meeting and events, he always stays behind the other members letting them take the limelight as a confident and strong leader of the group should do.

Bashing him for what the media said about him, is just wrong. It makes you a small minded person who’s like a puppet of the media. KHJ never once said that he’s the cause for SS501’s popularity and fans should know this. People who call themselves SS501 fans who take heart what the media said should stop calling themselves fans. You’re creating unnecessary rip of the group just because you’re too small minded.

I think Hyun Joong always received a lot of the attention because he is so beautiful, especially after his debut.  And to say he’s not talented is absolutely wrong.  He can sing, maybe not the high notes, but listen to his ballads on youtube, like Creep and on Kiss Radio.  And i prefer his vocals the most on the SS501 songs because his voice is lower and more manly.  I think his singing voice is beautiful.

I just checked the articles you wrote from before and the 2 articles you did for SS501 members you always begin your random writing (if it’s called writing at all) with “Am not the biggest SS501 fan” or whatever. i think this article is being too harsh for KHJ. it’s not because the media is giving more attention to the leader(it’s not his fault) doesn’t imply that he’s the ONLY REASON FOR SS501’s SUCCESS. they’ve all got the talent..!

SS501 is also known by many today from different parts of Asia also because of WGM and BOF ( and i came to know them because of that )
