This just hasn’t only affected K-pop recently, it seems whore-ness has plagued many young girls worldwide latley. Yea S.E.S. Was popular, but I can’t find “I love you” to download to my mp3 anywere! Someone help me!

90’s kpop idol groups > current idol groups

Ughh I hate how todays idol groups popularity is fueled with money!

Yup, korean managers are fkin crazy! The idols[Shinhwa, DBSJ, SuJU,etc..] aren’t allowed to leave their own house without getting permission from their managers, they’re not allowed to have a gf/bf…etc. Basically managers take over your life.

Shoo is pretty the way she is but we can’t really blame her…when she was with S.E.S she was the mediocre one…she was the pretty one when she was at school but with S.E.S, Eugene took the gorgeousness, and Bada took the voice…
and yeah…I’ll prefer S.E.S. than GG and WG anyday…

I miss the good ol’ 90s. I’m sure she’s just being humble, but men back then weren’t as blatantly obvious about their lolita complexes.

SES was popular across the board back in the day.  They’d sell 300,000 plus CD’s every time they released an album.  Just because the scene was more “conservative” didn’t mean people were listening to kpop any less.  Maybe after WG and SNSD stick around for a couple more years can people start comparing them to SES or Finkl.

Child, I know you’re only about 12 years old and simply don’t understand the setting of kpop 10 years ago so I’ll forgive you.
S.E.S. was technically the first girl K-pop group ever formed with an immense fan base. There was little divide like today with Wondergirls fans and Girl’s Generation fans. Yes there was Fin.K.L but if you were a teenybopper in the late 90’s, you were an S.E.S. fan.

Wow you are SO wrong about SES. SES was one of the original girl kpop groups and the original is ALWAYS better than the copy-ers.
you think that SES wasn’t as popular as money fueled wonder girls & girls generation? were you even old enough to understand SES’s popularity back then? they were practically a legend in the kpop history. please don’t post another ridiculous blog like this again. it’s embarrassing, really.

and Girlygirl, don’t put shinhwa as one of the current idol groups. they can leave their house whenever they want without a permission. they’re kinda OLD now?? they WERE from the late 90’s. they are nothing like the current idol groups. that’s kinda disrespectful to put an idol group from the 90’s thats been together for over 10 years with the current idol groups these days.

There’s a big difference between “SES did not have the popularity of idol groups these days” and “SES was unpopular”, nor did I ever say that WG or GG are better than SES. Yep, you’re right, I was like, six years old when the 90s idol groups were popular, but in my opinion, GG and WG has a fan base that SES or FinK.L. or even Baby V.O.X. didn’t have, and that’s crazy-ass fans who’d do anything for their beloved girls (Dream Concert, anyone?)

who doesn’t love S.E.S the music was great, classic pop music for me
miss them, they’re a good idol group!!! and they paved the way for many, so yea they might have not been as popular compared today’s groups but they did help Kpop music.

i wish i could build a time machine and go back to the late 90’s with SES, finkl, and babyvox…the choreography wasn’t as sharp as it may be now and production values were lower but kpop was more interesting then…before kpop developed larger acts with less talented members…

I would add a greater or less sign in between SNSD and WG but i don’t want to start something. =]
I always liked Bada for the voice and Eugene for the looks. To me, Shoo was just there…but i did think she looked good back then.

With all the people posting angry comments, it seems S.E.S has the popularity of Wonder Girls and Girl’s Generation. Besides, having good album sales > popularity when it comes to being an artist.
