Ah, she was prescribed medication. It’s good that a KPOP star comes out in the open with this, the more stigma is removed from the issue of mental illnesses, the more people will seek treatment - always a plus. And it’s good to know that she’s suffering from neurosis (depression) instead of psychosis (schizophrenia). Most Asians don’t treat mental suffering as seriously as they should, so it’s good that she’s frank about it.

I’m glad she recog it and got the hell out of Korea :D.  Besides, she needed a break, and she got one, and now she’s coming back :D. And Jewelry always does the best in the summer anyway.

it’s better to take a vacation break then to take your life.  Good she recognized what was going on with her and then got help for her depression.

who doesn’t suffer from depression??? im sick of celebrities “admitting” that they suffer from depression. you dont have to be rich and famous to get depressed from a jam packed schedule.

I completely agree with #118.  What make’s a celebrity’s life more valuable than a regular persons?  I never got hundreds of people pitying me when I went through depression and anxiety, suicide hazard times.  I got yelled at.

I can completely understand her depression from being over-worked…I’m glad she took a break and I hope things go better for her from now on…I think a lot of these celebrities are overworked…I just noticed in Introducing a Stars Friend with SuJu and 2pm that they must have been filming that between around 4am and at least 6am b/c the sun was coming up as they were filming…All these stars have so many schedules they barely get to sleep and I’m sure its hard on them…I just hope there aren’t anymore suicides…

i love how this post was written and i completely agree: Truthfully, it’s hard for me to understand how a celebrity can be depressed for having too full of a plate. many once famous celebrities whose star has faded away into the dark unknown would kill to have their phone ring off the hook with job offers it is exactly what i felt like saying. im glad she had the right mind to take a vacation and relax

i wish the best for her and i hope she recovers. we’ve got too much people committing suicide in this industry and that’s a shame, so i hope she gets some rest and i hope she can pull herself out of this depression

depressed about working?  usually, its the other way around isn’t it?  im sure there are tons of artists in korea dying to be in her position at the moment.  not only that but there are tons of people without jobs that cant even make their mortgages who i could see being depressed.  Seo In Young should be grateful that shes working.  Now, i understand that the schedules they have for artists in korea are ridiculous but what if she wasnt working?  Let me guess, she would be depressed?

Depression does not discriminate - it can affect anyone and everyone. Just because she’s a celebrity doesn’t mean she’s immune to it. Feelings and emotions are all relative. Just because she has a better life than most of the world doesn’t invalidate how she feels.

i dont think its for any of us to judge those in the world of fame and fortune. i think its PERFECTLY understandable that these people would suffer from depression. they dont lead a “normal” life, and this is where “the grass is always greener on the other side” applies.
