Park Ye Jin and Lee Chun Hee leaving Family Outing?
A flurry of updates had gone on throughout the day about the departure (?) of Park Ye Jin and Lee Chun Hee from SBS Family Outing and their replacements (?), Park Shi Yeon and Park Hae Jin. As of now, there are conflicting reports everywhere and it looks like the Korean media are jumping the gun to get their reports out. Remember that variety shows were all cancelled over the weekend (continuing until 29th May) and thus they were probably bored stiff, with nothing to write. But still, it looks like this will eventually become reality in the end. It's inevitable when it comes to variety shows especially for actors but still sad to see it become reality.
Park Ye Jin's management agency, BOF had announced that Park Ye Jin will record her final Family Outing episode on 1st, 2nd June, which will be shown on 21st and 28th June. Ye Jin is sad that she has to leave Family Outing because she has developed so much feelings over it, the bonding with the other family members and the fact that it has made more people take notice of her after appearing in it for close to a year.
The decision to leave SBS Family Outing was because of the filming schedule (which takes up 4 days) and location for MBC's Queen Seon Duk (debuting on 25th May), where she plays Princess Chun Myung. In addition, Park Ye Jin will also be filming for a movie (which takes up 3 days) which will start at the end of May concurrently. Previously, Ye Jin had taken on KBS2TV Hateful But Once Again together with Family Outing, which took a toll on her health and saw her falling sick.
It's believed that SBS are delaying the official announcement and are holding discussions with BOF to work something out, but it looks like it's going to be in vain. Meanwhile, Lee Chun Hee was also said to be leaving. But sources close to Chun Hee expressed, "Why would he leave? There's no reason for him to leave now."
Where does that leave Park Shi Yeon and Park Hae Jin then who were mentioned in numerous reports today as the possible new family members? Although SBS have denied that they were replacements and were only under consideration, they are probably prime candidates to step in should Ye Jin and Chun Hee leave eventually.
There's no official SBS announcement yet, only BOF is saying that Ye Jin is leaving. But it takes two hands to clap and it's probably a matter of time before everything's confirmed. Ye Jin and Chun Hee's future lies in acting afterall and I sincerely hope that they do well in their career. They certainly bought a lot of life to Family Outing.
