M Street’s Lee Seo Hyun Commits Suicide

M Street Lee Seo Hyun

And the celebrity suicides continue in 2008. M Street's member Lee Seo Hyun(30), was discovered hanging from his neck, on 12/1 at 4:30pm KST at the Seoul YangJaeDong practice studio.

Lee Seo Hyun left a note saying sorry to his parents as well as to his fellow church-mates. The reason for his suicide: failed stock investments, a couple hundred thousand dollars worth of borrowed money.

M Street debuted in 2004 with their first album entitled, "Boy's Story in the City." M Street is comparable to such groups as SG Wannabe, VOS and Buzz. Unfortunately, they never received the popularity they deserved, which was upsetting. M Street later on released their first single in 2005 entitled, "Start." In 2006 they released a digital single, "Together," and in 2007 another single entitled, "Tension." Last February (2008), they made yet another attempt with "Sunset Gift (노을의 선물)," but that too was not well received.

Yet another unfortunate event in the world of K-Pop. Rest in Peace.

IF the reason was money, then he could have look for a way to fix it or ask for help. There is always some way to make it right even if it takes longer time. But killing himself isn’t ganna do anything other than hurting the loved ones. I don’t know him nor heard of him…I still feel sad. Rest in peace!

Everyone here obviously doesn’t understand how borrowed money works in Korea… It’s not a big deal in the states, but in Korea it’s a bit different.

Still doesn’t excuse him for taking his own life. What an idiot.

SERIOUSLY! What the hell is wrong with Korea this year! How many suicides have there been now? OMG! And I just watched Last Scandal like a month before Choi Jin Shil passed. Seriously. This is just so sad. I don’t feel bad for the victims, but their families. It’s the worst for the family and friends of suicide victims.

kpop_jjang's avatar

geez….just when there was just ONE month left in the year. i feel bad for the family and his bandmates…RIP.

Korean celebrities tend to live their lives so sentimentally and dramatically which usually leads to impulsive decisions and it’s worst when it comes to death.

Actually there’s another reason beside the financial problem. Recently, he addmitted to be gay in a TV show and since then has been bombarded by homophobic criticisms. I think that made him even more depressed.

kk.tsk's avatar

another one X( RIP.

goodness.. i hope no one ever commits suicide again, not because i’m gonna be sad or because the number of stars committing suicide will increase but people should think how people around them are going to suffer too for losing one important person in their life.

sharw1thme's avatar

shouldve been a man, get another job, earn the money no matter how long it takes..
suicides are a pathetic way to end things and very cowardous.
bringing koreans to shame..

~Loco_Roco~'s avatar

This is becoming a trend. People shouldn’t be afraid to seek help.
RIP

Celestine's avatar

This is so terrible. I’m just afraid of what’s going to happen next because it’s continuing. Suicide is definitely not a solution to your problems.
@IMPORTANT_INFO -I can believe that, because that’s enough reason to feel depressed, especially knowing how society like that is about homosexuality. I’m sure that that could be the first reason.

Taejus's avatar

oh, and wasn’t he gay? I heard it somewhere…dont know where…

(and omg, hanging is said to be painful. why?)

oh and rip, i guess.

kpopgrrl's avatar

It wasn’t just money. He came out recently and people were harassing him on the internet for it.
