Even when seeing this, it’s still very clear that she is no Elle Woods. She almost never does a happy smile, she does that pained Jessica smile that she always does in SNSD. Not only that, but she is the worst at doing peppy.
ANYONE would have been better than her. She got picked because she’s pretty and famous. They didn’t pick her because she was suited for the role. I think they should’ve gotten a better voice, as well.

anyway…..i really do not think she fits the role well….her perkiness is really forced lol and while she can some notes her voice is definetly not strong enough for the performance, it was starting to fail towards the end….. but hopefully she will improve

I think I know the reason behind Jessica’s always icy expression… it’s because when she smiles a lot and laughs she looks really really old… Just finished watching the video and she did better than I had expected but overall I didn’t like it cause I’ve never really been a fan of her voice… No matter how hard I try I can never see her as Elle…. she is so not fit for the role… it seems she was only chosen for her popularity

on another note, cuz ive heard the broadway one…the english turned korean made the songs sound REALLY weird. maybe its just me.

and as much as i love love love jessica, she kinda…didnt do so well….of course shes tired, dancing and singing at the same time is hard and its her first time blahblah.
still. lol. i had really high expectations for her.

The people picked her because she was already a blond and she has a ton of fans that would go see this just because she’s in it. The producers said it themselves.
It’s painful to see how un-Elle Woods she is.
She’s not peppy. She’s not good at acting like she’s peppy. She doesn’t have the “musicals voice”, her voice just doesn’t go the distance.
Everything is just so stiff and forced.
If I were to watch this play, I would definitely attend the one with Honey or Ji woo.
Jessica only attracts snsd fans to shows, not musical fans.

@40 -  why not? this is the marketing strategy….i think its the great strategy….i hate musical but i like SNSD…i will watch this because of SNSD..and maybe after watching this i would change my opinion about musical…..dont tell me you will watch this if they hire some unknown talented girl…..i think u didnt even bother reading this article…..learn some marketing strategy mate…

@41 if the unknown singer is awesome i would most definetly go, if she played the part amazingly then absolutely. i wouldnt go to a musical based merely on the person’s status as a celebrity or not. if the persons great in the role then i will say its was definetly worth the money and plus everyone knows legally blonde i would click on it just because i know some asian is going to have to dye her hair blonde for the role and i would love to see how the person played the part.

though yes it is a great marketing strategy however they could have chosen a celebrity who has the voice and persona to suit
