@8 well everyone knows hyori’s the highest paid female kceleb right now, but it’s not like celebs make a lot of money to begin with, as compared to american celebrities. the richest female american celebrity is probably buying 29387230984-acre mansions, and hyori’s living in an apartment, which actually is pretty much how the asian music industry compares to the american industry. so yeah, it’s pretty surprising that they can afford apartments worth that much considering how little most korean idols make.

18. not really, there’s some celebs holed up in small places in new york (expensive land) or if they’re in california they can afford a pretty big house. In Asia, a huge acre house in a high cost area (Seoul / Tokyo / Hong Kong) would probably cost 50 million + (not many can afford that). Hyori made a little bit over 10 million last year, so it’s not like she’s poor. In comparison, Angelina Jolie made around 14 million in 2008.

Housing price in Korea is expensive. An old condo in Seoul costs at least 500k, and you can expect up to 100% increase in the price tag depending on the neighbourhood.
