Lee Dong Gun Receives Enlistment Notice

It was revealed today that actor Lee Dong Gun have received an enlistment notice from the 306 reserve army unit in Euijeongbu, Gyeonggi Province, informing him to report on 6th May. If Lee Dong Gun does go into the army as stated and required of any fit Korean male, he will be spending the next 22 months serving the nation.

But Lee Dong Gun has filed a deferment notice hoping to delay the call-up as he has plans on filming a drama before enlisting. But the deferment might be unsuccessful since he has not confirmed on any dramas as yet and he has to enter the military in any case this year since he will be 29 soon. With only less than a month to go, everyone is concerned whether he will get his wish to be deferred. Most recently, Lee Dong Gun had made the headlines for his relationship with fellow actress Cha Ye Ryun.

Just FYI, Kim Jae Won and Jo In Sung have already enlisted and are currently serving their basic military training. Kim Rae Won and Lee Jin Wook are next in line.

Either way he’s gonna go eventually. But hopefully he won’t get married before he goes. I read somewhere (here? I can’t remember. maybe k-popped) that he wanted to get married before he enlisted cause of what happened to his brother (actually he didn’t say that but you could tell what he meant) and for his parents. But that really wouldn’t be fair to a bride. I hope he makes another drama or movie though before he goes cause I love his acting. Especially in “Changing Partners”.

If I’m him, I’ll just go & get over it. He’s not getting any younger. It’s harder physically if he wait too long, plus he’s not busy right now with his career. Lee Jin Wook will be entering on 5/6/09 at the same place where Lee Dong Gun will be entering (if he enters on 5/.6/09). There are lots of S. Korean celebrities who already entered & some received their notices to enter. Good luck to all of them.
