Lee Byung Hun

What's this craze with Korean stars and Hollywood films lately? It seems like it's the latest trend these days, with their bad English and thick accents, here's another we can add onto the wall of fame shame.

Hallyu star 'Lee Byung Hun' is planning on debuting in Paramounts upcoming film "G.I. JOE," he will be playing the character "Storm Shadow."

"'Storm Shadow' is a character with a dark and complex history who is one of the most popular and enigmatic characters of the G.I. JOE universe. According to G.I. JOE lore, 'Storm Shadow' was trained by the same Ninja master as Snake Eyes, a member of the elite G.I. JOE team, but now fights against him." - iesb.net

The movie is planned for a 2009 release, let's hope Lee Byung Hun doesn't embarrass us too badly - his English scenes in "All In" were bad enough as it is.

^ The last I heard him speak english was in the drama “All in,“ it was terrible.  Then again, the character Storm Shadow was always portrayed as a Japanese ninja, so we’ll have to wait and see how things fall into place.

That’s cool, did you know that GI Joe: A real american hero was created by a japanese dude named Larry Hama? You learn something new everyday.

Hi everyone! Thanks very much for the update. Whether the movie comes through, we’ll just have to wait and see. Just want to add though, Lee Byung Hun actually speaks English better than what or how he did in All In. According to a Caucasian movie producer who met him on set in China during the shooting of “The Good, The Bad, The Weird” he mentions in his blog that LBH speaks perfect English.

We can also wait to see if this is true when his other movie “I Come With The Rain” opens in 2008, the French-financed movie is entirely spoken in English with Josh Hartnett in the leading role. LBH plays a HK gangster in the movie. His other co-star, Shawn Yue in his blog also mentioned that LBH speaks English well.
