People keep delaying their military service over and over again until they’re too old and tired to perform and they just stick it out for a desk job. C’mon! Be a man and just do it already.

@20: The reason that all males have compulsory military service is because Korea is still technically in a state of war. It’s just a cease fire. Just because I don’t live in Korea doesn’t mean I didn’t go to college with dudes that had to go back for it and have plenty of long drawn out conversations. Every male Korean citizen KNOWS he HAS to go at some point. It’s almost a right of passage. I say that’s pretty archaic too (making my previous comment sound a little contradictory). But, if you’re not going to CHANGE something (via peace treaty or working towards reunification) I say stop trying to get around it and wanting special treatment because you’re a celebrity. :::
My comment at the end was referring to the fact that fangirls are willing to do crazy things like flashmobs and boycotts and sit-ins to get ONE dude to be reinstated to an idol group… but neglect to realize why their idols go off to military for 2 years. They just say “oh I’m so sad… I’ll be waiting for you!” It’s so ingrained (status quo) that they all go that we don’t consider that it CAN and SHOULD be changed. ::::
NOTE: I didn’t say he was a coward. I said if he isn’t going to work towards progress/change he should just deal with it and get it done already. If he’s really that physically unable then I’m sure he would have been considered exempt by now. Going at the age of 29/30 just made it harder on himself (both because of aged body AND because of rank issues).

Number 20 I don’t know why you told me to go back to school. No hard feelings though. I have a huge problem with compulsory military service and whenever it comes up on Allkpop I make a big stink and let people know… NO. Korean war never ended. And YES that needs to change.

Man, I hate how South Korea has to do mandatory military service -_- 2AM’s Changmin was SMART for being able to get his priorities down before joining One Day… But it hurts to realize that ALL Korean guys must do this! The man’s nearly died from and woken up from a coma, practically blind in one eye, periodically broken his nose, fingers, arms, and more recently his back and wrist from filming IC and various car accidents; all work related. He sacrifices a lot for his work, so just leave him alone, he’ll go when he needs to.
