@31 you shut up if they were “talented” and can “obviously sing live” then they would’ve. whats the point of watching a lipsynch performance when all they do is dance and pretend to sing. might as well just put a screen and play their mv. just cause other groups do it isn’t an excuse.

i dont think all of them have bad voices so there isn’t any need to lipsynch. they sound fine live. some don’t have very stable voices but it still sounds decent.

It’s sad that these days their are no standards for artists anymore. We have moved past art into generic money making formulas. I am going to get a group of plain looking girls who can’t sing or dance together and make my own group since people are dumb enough to go to a concert in which the artists aren’t even expected to sing. In fact I’ll just put a robot on stage and play a track, I doubt the SNSD fans will notice the difference.

As for the WG “2008 K-pop Blooper” thing, 1) WG didn’t take the cute route and play up the dance like SNSD, so of course it’s not one of those “aww” moments and 2) the article criticizes the guys who played the music, not WG themselves. Everyone needs to chillax. Bloopers are supposed to make you laugh and give a sense of schaudenfreude, not mass murder against a pop group in some faraway country.

Oh, and for the whole “lip-synching is bad/real artists don’t need to lip synch” argument, I think it’s just a matter of acoustics. It looks like an outside venue so it’s more common to lip sync because the sound gets released in all directions unevenly so a lot of artists (all around the world and not just in Kpop) do this to protect the performance instead of showing their abilities. Also, since they’re not officially promoting their mini album anymore, I’m sure no one finds it strange if they did lip sync. I mean, most people do it, so why put some much effort in trying to blame one group for it?

And I totally agree that Johnny has an unabashed bias towards SNSD over WG. I’m sure he likes both, but he doesn’t even try to hide his love for Jess and Yuri so…

snsd lipsanc and it was funny so don’t take it too seriously..
i mean they’ve sung this song live a billion times before.. and at venues like this, it’s hard for larger groups to sing live.. like snsd, etc cuz either the microphones don’t work properly or they don’t have enough. SuJu said at Come to Play that they’ve told concert coordinators that they want to sing live before but weren’t allowed because there were just not enough mics :[
