I wonder how they intend to do that. Even if they shed their pretty boy image and go for something more “mature” won’t exactly do. There are singers who have a more “mature” image, but are still labeled as “idols”. BEG became “idols”, even though their hit song “Abracadabra” is more technically considered “mature”. SNSD decided to go for a “mature” image with Genie, but they are still idols.  Transitioning from an idol to a serious band isn’t easy as they can’t just say “I’m no longer an idol~!”, because even if they say that, people will still look at them as idols. So from now on, I have high hopes and expectations from them. What their music and image will be, and how they plan to change the public’s view as them being idols… I look forward~ <3

The difference between BEG and SNSD from FT Island is the fact that they aren’t bands., they’re groups.  FT Island wants to be acknowledged for what they are, a “band”.

@22: I understand that. What I’m trying to say is that merely having a more “mature” image won’t make FT Island lose their idol image or be merely enough to make people start seeing them as a band when they’ve had the image of FT Island being an idol for a long time.

They have my respect too! Esp hongki and jonghun. Jonghun can play instruments but doesnt really get to shine as music shows in korea dont let them play live (sucks). The other members are good too. Im excited!

I want to see their concert…but I’m so, so far away…I hope they’ll have a concert dvd like some of their other concerts!  I’ll buy that for sure!

How does that translate to being a real band? REAL BANDS would forget about visuals and focus on the music, they are just becoming a different kind of idol.
To be a REAL BAND, they need to actual write some good non-idol songs, and start focusing on the music more.
