They have big ass campaigns about illegal dling… That didn’t do shit; what makes him think he’s so special to make a threat like that and expect it to make a difference?

Although they’ve got a lot of pre-orders, sales have generally worsed over the last few years (actually, much like much of the CD markets in the rest of the world).  Thats why so many US and British artists these days rely on paid downloads i.e iTunes, and concerts to create revenue.

Thats also why artists like BoA and TVXQ have gone to Japan - bigger market, more sales, more revenue. 

I don’t blame Tablo getting a bit pissed off. He won’t be breaking into Japan, and yeah he might love rapping, but at the end of the day, he’s in it for the money. He whored himself onto variety shows, just for more publicity, although he hates them.

I’d be pissed off too, busting my ass on a project for a year, stripping down to make a good product, only to find hundreds of thousands of people ‘stealing’ it.

That being said, he’s rather exagerrating when he says he gets ‘no return’ =/

He needs to get over it.  The economy is crap and many can’t afford to buy cds.

when i saw the title of this article, my eyes bugged out, nooo Tablo don’t quit, don’t give up!

he can always do like metallica and start suing people for illegal downloads.  I know I download some music, because to buy a cd and not know if you like half the songs kinda sucks you’ve just wasted $20 or more on a frisbee.

The economy is just in the loops right now.  People can’t buy shit that they were able to buy years ago.. and, that equals Epik High’s CD.  Lol.

I love Epik High and all, but this is funny.
I mean, he has a great reason to be pissed off, and he has every right to complain about it.
But to threaten to quit?
Honestly, that won’t really help.
Another group will come along, and his “fans” will move on to them.

If any of you go to a kpop downloading site (the ones you don’t pay for), the popular artists get their albums downloaded approx. 4,000 times. Did you guys see how many people downloaded Epik High’s album????? It was over 20,000+! And that’s just one website.

So 20,000 illegal downloads * x# of kpop download websites * $18.99 = CHA CHING.

I WOULD BE PISSED TOO.

anyway….yeah he wants his money. people can bitch about him being an artist and he should do it for the love of music, not for the payoff. So who’s gonna pay all the people involved in the production of the album. promotion of the album. the company, managers, staff, etc. the artist has to pay all these people and when the money isn’t being earned off the sales of the album, guess what?...it comes out of the artists pocket.

I’d be damn pissed off too if I racked up expenses to make an album for people and to give them a taste of something I loved and they clearly wanted enough to download but wasn’t given any return. Music is almost impossible to be anything but a business these days. Artists love their craft because trust me, NO ONE would put themselves through the crap they have to go through if they didn’t love it but at the end of the day, people have to get paid and it’s the stars who have to get their checkbooks ready.

LookAtTheSource - there’s a difference between asking for a source and calling people sheep for believing anything. All of our stories are from valid/credible sources, some maybe a bit exaggerated (for comedic effect). But nothing is just made up.

I think I understand where Tablo’s coming from.  What people need to understand is, there’s a difference in financial income with album sales with those of U.S. music artists and Korean music artists.  Artists in the states probably make 5x (exaggerated #) more than that of artists in Korea.  So, when people think they make “100 million” in album sales, it’s probably that cut in half minus 8.  Lol.

i really love epik high ,i also bought their new album “pieces part 1” but why is he saying things like that?illegal sharing is so common that there’s no point of trying to stop it,look at the world ,they tried to stop it but there’s no way ,plus i remember him saying he loved doing music for a living and enjoyed creating “pieces” so has he gone mad ? Pieces part 1 is number in korea 0___0 why is he saying things like that?

He has spent over a years worth of work into a project only to have it stolen. People argue that he has plenty of money and question whats one more person downloading gonna do. But that “one person” adds up. And why does he or other artists/atheletes get paid so much? They put themselves out there in front of hundreds…thousands of people with something they’ve worked so hard to achieve in order to gain acceptance, which isn’t always the case. Lets see you do that first then we’ll talk about all the expenses it takes for an album to be made…..
