Composers Of Lee Seung Gi’s “Let’s Break Up” Accused Of Plagiarism
The composers of Lee Seung Gi's hit-song, Lets Break Up, have been charged for plagiarism.
Composer Sung Hwan sent a complaint to Seoul's SungDong police station on the 27th, which stated that composers KXX and LXX for the song Lets Break Up, plagiarized his song Injured an Ankle.
A representative from Seoul's SungDong police station had a phone call with Newsen, revealing that after receiving the complaint yesterday, they finished investigations today. According to the police, composer Sung Hwan said that Lets Break Up had more than 4 bars of music similar to his song, causing him to send a copyright infringement.
A representative from the police stated, "The plaintiff claimed that the 4th and 16th bar of Lets Break Up are similar in melodies."
Lee Seung Gi's representative stated, "We are currently looking into this situation," while a representative of the accused composers said, "It is definitely not plagiarized."
The police will send the CDs that contain Lets Break Up and Injured an Ankle to Korea's Copyright Committee (KOMCA) for further investigations, as they stated, "The decision whether or not it is plagiarized will be decided by the Copyright Committee."
A side note - Injured an Ankle was in the OST for the SBS drama How to Meet a Perfect Neighbor, which was sung by Tim.

hopefully everything will go well..
