Being racist is not solely indicated by the way you express it. EVERYONE, and let me stress EVERYONE, has had AT LEAST one “racist” thought at one point or another. Be it “Asian people have smaller eyes” or “Black people fail at school” or “White people are wrapped up in their Western world.” Don’t tell me you’ve never thought anything like that, because that’s just plain bullshit. Everyone deep down is “racist”, it’s just whether or not you’re stupid enough to tell the whole world. At that time, Seungri was stupid enough, due to his immaturity, inability to think before he spoke, and the environment in which he was raised. At least by now he’s probably more aware that those thoughts are not the kind of thoughts that should be said in public. Who really gives a shit about what they think as long as they don’t say it… it’s amazingly deluded to think that people, including celebrities, are pure right down to their thoughts.

The kid grew up in korea. There’s a big difference in the society over there and in the US. There’s only so much exposure he had about African Americans and most of it would come from the way the American media depicts them. He does have some African American dance teachers though, but eh who knows. On a side note I do think his comment is a bit more extreme than some other comments KPOP celebs have made and they were extremely chewed out for by both Korean and Intl fans alike while there’s actually still a lot of people supporting Seungri. Go figure.
