Big Bang Is Number 4

Big Bang My Heaven

No, Big Bang isn’t Number 1 within a day of their single release. However, they are number 4 on the charts which is still a great start to their Japanese promotions.

The boys rose to the 4th position on the Oricon chart with their single "My Heaven." With the group working with Universal Music Japan for the first time, it wouldn't be hard to imagine the group gaining the number 1 position within the month. If not, the group will have a second chance when they release their single "Gara Gara GO" on the 8th of July.

Big Bang has also announced plans to tour Japan this fall as part of their increased promotions in the country.

Huhuhu ^^....No matter what ranking they finally made it .....whether no 4 or number 20 ....VIPs are simply proud of them.  As it’s obvious that BB music style might not that…being so familiar to Japanese market where Rock,Pop,Ballad are widely accepted.  We are happy already. ^0^

To those comparing DBSK and Big Bang, DBSK is undoubtedly popular but there’s no use comparing them with Big Bang. I think DBSK’s music and image fits in with Jpop. To be honest, DBSK is a good looking group and their music is mostly really pop and ballad. Also their image is generally preppy, sexy. Which basically means that they will definitely succeed in Japan.

Big Bang, on the other hand, has some rap in its music and is generally more dance plus a touch of hip hop/rnb./techno. Not really that popular in the Jap market. Plus their fashion sense (at least for the Japan with the exception of GD who’s uhm fashion genius in on hiatus) is more street than anything else compared to other Jap artists (like KAT-TUN,  SMAP, ARASHI) and who are into suits and preppy clothes. So, they will be going against the tide.Plus, the boys can’t speak fluent Jap so they will definitely be resistance since they sound very foreign.

I’m more of a Big Bang fan, since I like their music over DBSK. But I’m honest enough to say that BB has a lot going against them. But, even if their sales are not that high, this is a big step for them to the right direction. Which means that they may be able to change the tide in their favor.

Overall, happy for the boys!

Number 4 is a great start… at least they got to the Oricon charts with their first song and I’m sure the boys are going to continue the promotions of the album so have faith. Success tastes sweeter when it had to go through hard work. Ganbatte BigBang! Don’t let the negative atmosphere pull you down!

woooh you can do it big bang!!
although i still perfer Heaven in korean version but since i understand some japanese its ok
i still love you guys!! XD

@messedup: very well said. i’m a fan of both Bigbang and DBSK. there’s no point comparing the two groups because they have different music genre. they are just similar because they are both Korean groups who cross over in Japan. DBSK also had trouble with language/communicating during their debut in Japan. in no time, for sure Bigbang will get over the language barrier if they concentrate more in studying the language while they are in Japan.

Im not BB’s fans but I do hope BB will manage to get the first rank soon~
Stop comparing!! Im sick with it >.<

congrats!!!!!!
i honestly don’t care if they succeed or not in Japan..because I know BB’s music is different from Japanese’s music..
But deep in my heart I want them to maintain their style of music and hopefully it will bring new feeling to Japanese music market and become successful just like in Korea…which i know it’s not easy..but I will continue to love and support them…BB fighting!!!

i say go back to korea and stay there. hasn’t bb learn anything? what would happen to their korean fans.
u see what happen to dbsk since they abandoned korea? now dbsk couldn’t bear the thought of leaving their japanese fans behind. poor cassies. but can’t blame them since they received so much love and made so much money in japan as opposed to their native home.

ANWAYS, congrats to Big Bang for entering the Japanese market and reaching the fourth spot! i hope they can all conquer the japanese language so they can be presented in interviews and promote themselves. truly connect to the japanese fans~ good luck ^^

oh yes! big bang is love! there doing so well i love it!

Oh please, they merely sold a little over 5k copies, and VIPs are already hotheaded enough to challenge dbsk. All you people care about is ranking, it is irrelevant as far as actual sale numbers are concerned. Ranking is relative and if you look at their competition for that day and the actual sale numbers, it is not as great of a feat as some of these ignorant vips imagined it to be. So no, i highly doubt they will be getting #1 anytime soon, and while this is surely a good start, it is nothing to threaten DBSK with.
Don’t get me wrong, i have nothing against big bang, i wish them all the best and i hope they will achieve success in Japan like their sunbaes. But it just seems like that many vips are under the delusion that dbsk needs to be bashed and mentioned at every irrelevant big bang article for no good reason.

the only reason big bang did well is cause japan is more open to foreign korean groups you idiots.  they will never achieve Tohoshinki’s success.

THSK >>>> BIG BANG

what’s wrong with Bigbang to have like 5000 single sold on the 1st date ?? o.O   I’m a proud VIP and I do not think it should be disappointed at all.  Considering BB is fairly new in Jap market.  And we all know with BB music style is not that kind of mainstream there in Japan anyway ??  With those sell records I must say I’m already satisfied with it….. I’m really appreciated for those who support the boys though.  And yeh…why BB vs THSK here…..Those THSK fans should be at least humble for your idols. BB status in Japan is nowhere near THSK at the moment…By being so proud of your idols is nothing wrong….But by looking down of others is somewhat…mean.

Wow, congrats o_o’’ but I never thought it would make it into top 5, no offense. It just didn’t seem like something the Japanese would like…
