Best Idol Group Leader Goes to…
Netizens have voted Super Junior's Lee Teuk as the best idol group leader!
The votes for the question "Which idol group leader shows leadership most often?" were made from the 16th to 23rd through community portal site, DC Inside.
I would think that someone like TVXQ's U-Know Yunho would receive the pot of gold, but that doesn't seem to be the case in this survey. Super Junior's Lee Teuk alone grabbed 34.2% of the votes, scoring 15,742 of the 45,928 votes made. Super Junior member Heechul, who is the same age as Lee Teuk, explained that Lee Teuk "always puts the members before himself," and that "even though he gets angry at his dongsengs, he always hugs and apologizes in the end."
I'm a bit surprised by Lee Teuk's win - Forgive me Suju fans, but I didn't even know he was the leader until this year! Lee Teuk doesn't give off the leader vibe in my opinion, but then again, who can blame him? It must be really hard to stand out when there are twelve members next to you.
The runner-up, much to my surprise, was from a girl idol group - Taeyeon of SNSD / Girls' Generation, with 22.1% of the votes (10,171 votes). Although 2NE1 is relatively new to the K-pop industry, I think CL, with that spunk and charisma of hers that can't be found in any other girl groups, would've definitely made a more appropriate candidate. And what about the Wonder Girls?! Where's Sun Ye to rock the other leaders out?
TVXQ's U-Know Yunho grabbed third place, scoring 21.4% (9,850 votes). Following the top three, the other votes went to SS501's Kim Hyun Joong, SHINee's Onew, and 2PM's Jaebeom. Why in the world was Jaebeom last? Beats me. Both Yunho and Jaebeom should have definitely been ranked higher. There's just something that sets off unique sparks in these two that you can't find in any other idol group leaders.
