I do totally expect Fire to be a huge hit, but I don’t think this is actually a good method of advertisement for the group. I think YG is hyping them way too much and the dragging out of the release isn’t helping; if they don’t live up to expectations that are set too high, the backlash is going to be huge.

I don’t mind this picture, but there’s no love for it either, so I’m indifferent? But rather than bash a picture what about the overall image 2NE1 is presenting? Doesn’t anyone have a problem with them jumping on the scene as the shit of the year when they haven’t even debuted yet? I’m really referring to their second teaser, which didn’t leave me with a good impression. If this were the type of music I looked forward to I would go to the nearest club and listen to people eheheh-ing all they wanted there.

And that’s not to mention the whole concept of 2NE1 being a “female Big Bang”. I’m afraid that might end up being 2NE1’s only claim to fame since that’s a hard shadow to step out of. Then again, I could be wrong and 2NE1 might end up doing the complete opposite of what I’m predicting. And I haven’t forgotten that YG has been pretty consistent with showing us people with amazing talents. I just wish they’d stop looking like a half-baked version of Big Bang. Speaking of which, BB’s not looking to hot lately. I hope they’re semi-vacations cools them back down.
