2NE1’s thoughts on SNSD and 4Minute

2NE1 recently spoke about the “girl group battle†between them, Girls’ Generation / SNSD, and 4Minute and how they feel about the other said girl groups.
2NE1 stated that they think Girls’ Generation / SNSD and 4Minute each have their own special characteristics and they observe the other girl groups strengths and try to learn from them. 2NE1 went on to say that their personal weakness is dancing in unison as a group and they notice that Girls’ Generation is so good at dancing as one that they are astonished and even a little desirous of Girls’ Generation’s harmonious dancing abilities. When speaking about 4Minute, 2NE1 said that it’s clearly visible that 4Minute works very hard on their performances and they are motivated and inspired by 4Minutes’ work ethic.
2NE1 also said that they perceive this present wave of Kpop girl groups as a unified movement of “girl group supremacy†and they don’t look at it as a “girl group battle†like the Korean media has labeled it.
These girl groups are all sounding like broken records. 2NE1 gave the basic clichéd “we don’t think of it as a ‘girl group battle’ because blah, blah†answer. I don’t blame them though because the media is just trying, and hoping, to get a controversial comment out of one of these groups so they can sensationalize this “girl group battle†even more than they already have. The way I see it, it’s a great time to be an overall fan, like myself, of Kpop girl groups and I think 2009 will go down in Korean music history as the year of the girl groups.
To forever rid this notion that there’s a “girl group battle,†Girls’ Generation, 2NE1, and 4Minute should all come over to my place and have a group “fan meeting†in my bedroom. Whether the ladies of all three groups know it or not, there will be plenty of photos and video footage of the event so all the fans out there don’t need to worry about missing out on this historic “fan meeting.†In an effort to truly unify these three girl groups, I’ll make sure all the ladies will be treated evenly and receive equal time and attention by me. Actually I retract that last statement. The underage members of each group will not be able to participate in most, if not all, of the events I have planned for the “fan meeting.†I should also make this clear beforehand that I will need to spend some quality one-on-one time with SNSD’s Yuri, for obvious reasons. The most hardcore, diehard 2NE1 fans will probably hate me for having a Yuri video in a 2NE1 article but I couldn’t help myself, and as far as what you think of me… frankly, “I don’t care eh eh eh eh eh.â€
