i don’t get how lSM got best producer, in the music world doesn’t a “producer” refer to a person who makes/creates music, i.e someone like timbaland, so shouldn’t a person like JYP win this award

I wonder why BB didnt win any awards, is this the same award show that decided NOT to have a proper picture of them when they were nominated so time ago and just had a blurry photograph of their single/album?

what a tight award show. they only give out awards if artists attend! WOW they must be a really credible organisation. Though I’m glad DBSK and Shinee won some awards =D

Even though Hyori and BB didnt attend, in a way it’s kind of bittersweet, as a result they weren’t eligle for awards but they’re absence just proves that they’re really dedicated to their fans. It’s great to see that they would be willing to dismiss some ceremony in order to put in an extra 110% to work on their respective concerts to please their fans. AHHHH if only I could come to their concerts, too bad I live a gazillion kilometres away from them

f the OFFICIAL members of fanclubs who r always there supporting even f they r called CRAZY by people (unlike most of us here who just illegally download their songs), such as cassioepeia, vip, etc.  did not really take it seriously wen their favorite artist didn’t won dat award so y shud we bring on the fanwar on some gossip blog(s)?,..

really, we r making something big even though we just can shrug it off,..

Not all vips are angry. I am one, and I don’t actually care that Big Bang didn’t get any award this time. Why? Because you really can’t deny the fact that DBSK deserves it since they really sold A LOT more albums than Big Bang. It’s just the truth. And maybe also because Haru Haru wasn’t as HUGE as Lies and Sunset Glow came out too late. I love Big Bang and I’m a vip. But I’m not some crazy fangirl who thinks that Big Bang should bag all the awards in Korea and every song that they produce is OH EM GEEE JUST THE BOMB. No, in fact, I think their second album was pretty hard to listen to.

And seriously, I think it’s a bad decision for Big Bang not to come. It makes people think that they didn’t come just because they didn’t receive any award.

Anyhoos, congrats to DBSK, WG, Taeyeon and all other winners :D

I was rewatching the awards.. and Brown Eyes did win an award. I think it was for Bonsang Disk? Both SG Wannabe and Brown Eyes also won. I think you might have accidentally typed Brown Eyed Girls instead.
I believe Brown Eyed Girls only won Bonsang Digital.

You raise a lot of good points and I"m not trying to single you out, but I do want to mention that GDA is 20% based on judging as well. GDA is more credible than MKMF because it emphasizes more on sales while MKMF emphasizes more on VOTING and judging. I think judging accounts for around 20-30% for MKMF awards, so as you can see there’s not that big of a difference between the amount of judging between MKMF and GDA.

Just compare the two, and it’s clear that GDA is more prestigious since it barely takes voting into account, and emphasizes sales. Between voting and sales, it’s pretty obvious which one matters more in terms of awards.

The Golden Disk Awards don’t give out awards to people if they don’t attend, which has got people in Korea angry atm, because they feel that defeats the point of an awards show then, which is giving it to the people that “deserve” it.

Seotaeji and Big Bang couldn’t attend, and both didn’t get awards.

So there’s an unwritten rule in GDA that artists who are nominated but are not attending will NOT win an award. So Some artists won due to technicality. (COUGH TAEYEON COUGH)

Errmm… well first of all the two awards are EQUALLY BIG for me. And for both Bigbang and TVXQ they are both EUALLY GREAT. Sometimes it doesn’t mean that not getting awards is bad or what. And it doesn’t mean getting many awards is the best too. So cool down Cass and VIPs. I do believe that they are both great in their own ways because i do love both of them.

Yes, it’s true that TaeYeon won the award because BigBang didn’t attend…that’s a rule in GDA…

But for SM, it’s a diff. situation…he really deserves it… though he’s not there… who will get it?... JYP’s no there… and other producers were not there too… so it really went to the real winner… SM - he got DBSK, SHINee, SuJu, and SNSD esp. TaeYeon…
