I’m surprised big Bang and DBSK are so close… Then again most of their influence comes from Fan girls. Hyori is higher than BoA because she appears more in Commercials and stuff than BoA and Hyori is a big money maker. (One of the highest paid Korean celeb i think? not sure) MEh Rain shouldn;t be 18. He’s not that influential. Just cuz he got recognized in time, everyone thinks he’s the shit. I can tell you now if any other Korean celeb decide to have a concert in America, we would be talking about them not Rain ont he list.

Charlotte, hun. The amount of artists isn’t the prime factor in what makes someone influential and powerful. JYP is a powerful man, and he is a genius at what he does. But give credit where credit is due. Lee Soo Man is known for his marketing and promotional strategies, and the fact it evident by the big name artists he rolls out time and time again - H.O.T, Shinhwa, Fly To the Sky, S.E.S, dbsk, boa, super junior, SNSD, etc.
Both JYP and LSM are influential men in the korean music industry, but the amount of artists you have isn’t a significant factor.
but then again, this list is probably subjective and people will have their own opinions.

Tho I love them, I’m surprised too that BB made it on the list. I suppose like crystal199187 says, it’s to do with their fashion style, they started fashion trends in 2007.
BoA should’ve been higher than Rain. She broke records in Japan. DBSK should’ve been at least 20 ranks higher too. And YEH is considered influential cos just her name alone creates hype in dramas plus all her CF contracts.

@ Charlotte What a typical rain fan girl. Get over the fact that Rain isn’t as as you think and i beleive a lot of ppl will agree. Hell most of the sped racer trailers dont; even have rain in it. It’s prolly only the Asian countries where they show rain to give more hype and a gimmick. I think BoA, DBSK, AND Big Bang were more influentials than rain. Oh yeah i was at the YG Concert also and it was about as full as the Rain concert.
On a side note, i saw Rain’s video to colbert ont he Colbert Report and i wanted to punch that tranny after hearing his english and lookign at his/her face.

Charlotte, yeah well if his ass was so confident in what he WAS doing, why did he start focusing more in acting, chicken out and hide from his tour dates, AND canceled them?
“talented” or not, whatever the hell you or other fans may think, that isn’t influential. Plus, did any of his albums even make it to top 5 in korea? didn’t he have like a failure in Japan?
If he wants to be influential, he should stick to what he’s BEST (not necessarily what he’s good in :O) at, which is acting. I could probably respect him more in that. But I will never give him credentials as a singer or dancer.

I’m so heartbroken that EPIK HIGH isn’t on the list. God knows that they are a very talented group of rare artists who aren’t seen a lot these days in the entertainment business. I’m proud they were able to come out strong . I heard Tablo and the others had a very rough start in the beginning: getting conned and then having to “sell” their music by going on tv shows. Their music is everything and everything else in betweek: angry, sad, dark, nostalgic, moving, inspirational, substantial, and thought-provoking.

Yep I’ll hand LSM for his marketing strategy because who have have known that when SJ debut they would make it pass the first album and SNSD with members who had an anti fanclub dedicated to them before anything was announced.
