In the first round, there was a total 2483 votes. Xiah of DBSK had the most votes overall with 487 votes, Taebin of 1tym unfortunately was last place with only 47 votes. Again the top 4 will advance to the next round (the final four). Thank you for participating in Round 1, Round 2 will end May 10th.

Here are the profiles of the Elite 8 for Round 2:

Yunho - Birthdate: Febuary 6, 1986. Jung Yunho, secured his spot in TVXQ through a dance competition. He was the second member to join TVXQ . Prior to this, he accumulated some musical experience as a rapper and backup dancer for K-pop singer Dana in her Diamond video. His chosen stage name is U-know YunHo, because when you say Yun Ho really fast it sounds like “You know” in English. He is the second oldest member in TVXQ and is also the band’s leader.

T.O.P. - Birthdate: November 4, 1987. The “Big Brother” of the band is Choi Seung Hyun, also known as Tempo or T.O.P. YG’s staff calls him Keun Seung Hyun, meaning Big Seung Hyun, to distinguish between the two Big Bang members named Seung Hyun. Before joining Big Bang, he performed in clubs and even won KBS Radio’s “Rap Battle” in 2003. Tempo is one of the two rappers in the Big Bang and is also very talented in beat-boxing. Recently, TOP has successfully finished filming his role as the school’s top fighter in a Korean drama called, I Am Sam. His character’s name in the drama was Chae Mu Shin and his talent as an actor has impressed the fans and the viewers as well.

Hero - Birthdate: January 26, 1986. Real Name: Jaejoong is the lead vocal of the group TVXQ. He won the best looking award in the SM Entertainment auditions and also passed the singing competition. His hobby is weight training and cooking. He sometimes carries out the role of a “big brother” or the “mother” towards the members, and also gives the most criticisms to the members regarding music. He has deep thoughts and talks straight-forwardly, which sometimes gets him into trouble. He enjoys cooking in his spare time and can prepare 15 kinds of dishes easily. Many, including himself, say that he gives a cold impression when first met, however, the members say he is most ‘loving’ and warm in the group after getting to know him better.To the shock of the fans, it was revealed in 2006 that Jaejoong was adopted and his real last name was Han. He was raised by adoptive parents as a baby who had not revealed to him that he was adopted. He had no contact with his biological parents to the point where he did not even know of them until his biological mother came forward after his debut as a singer. His biological father was going to sue for custody, against his wishes, but dropped the case after Jaejoong’s statement recognizing the man as his father. In a public statement, Jaejoong stated he wanted both his mothers to live happily and take care of him. He will not, however, change his name. In a recent poll started by China’s Xingkong Weishi (Starry Sky) Satellite channel, Hero Jaejoong was voted as “Asia’s most handsome guy”. Approximately 40 million Netizens and viewers participated in this month-long poll that started in January and out of the said number, Hero placed first with a total of 4,176,192 votes (more than 10%).

Siwon - Birthdate: February 10, 1987. Full Name: Choi Siwon. He is an actor, singer, dancer and a member of Korean boy band Super Junior. Choi’s breakthrough performance was in the 2006 Hong Kong historical action drama film, A Battle of Wits, where he plays the young prince, Liang Shi. Choi continued his education after his debut with Super Junior. Choi graduated in Hyun Dae High School in February 2006 and later went on to attend Inha University. A year before his debut with Super Junior he traveled to Beijing, China with Girls’ Generation’s Hyo Yeon to learn about the country’s language and history and stayed there for three months. Choi is also a drummer, having performed with his senior labelmates, TRAX in September 2006 on SBS’s music show Popular Songs due to the fact that their drummer, Rose, had left the band. Choi is nicknamed Simba by his bandmate Kim Heechul. Members joke that he has the same smile as the Joker from Batman. His members also call him Horse because of his looks and his height.

G-Dragon - Birthdate: August 18, 1988. G-Dragon initially debuted as a child hip-hop artist, likely in hopes of emulating the popularity and success of Lil Romeo and Lil Bow Wow in the states. However, G-Dragon never released an album and was limited to featuring on other YG artists’ albums. Before BIG BANG were formed G.Dragon and fellow band mate Tae Yang were known as “G.Dragon & YB Tae Kwon”, they have performed as a duo at concerts such as ‘SE7EN’s First SE7EN’ as rappers and backing dancers. Since BIG BANG’s debut, G-Dragon has taken an active role in composing for BIG BANG’s releases.

Wonbin - Birthdate: November 10, 1977. He is a South Korean actor. He is the youngest of five siblings, with one older brother and three older sisters. Won Bin made his screen debut in a 1996 KBS drama, and made his first big breakthrough in the drama Autumn Fairy Tale (2000) also known as Autumn tale and Autumn in my heart. Other movies such as My Brother… and Taegukgi, released in 2004, proved to be popular as well and gained him further fame. He has best newcomer award Chinsa Film Art Festival and Golden Filming Award for Taegukgi. Won Bin was called into military duty in the South Korean Army in November 2005. He was stationed at the Korean border, a position for which he volunteered. On June 2, 2006, the military officially confirmed Won Bin’s discharge. The decision was made by the military when the actor sustained injury to his ACL. The actor has undergone surgery and has officially been discharged on June 7, 2006, after 191 days in the army.

Tae Yang - Birthdate: May 18, 1988. Tae Yang is a vocalist for YG band BIG BANG. He is also a well established rapper in the company and has been part of YG for many years. Before BIG BANG were formed Tae Yang and fellow band mate G.Dragon were known as “G.Dragon & YB Tae Kwon”, they have performed as a duo at concerts such as ‘SE7EN’s First SE7EN’ as rappers and backing dancers.

Xiah - Birthdate: December 15, 1986. Xiah Junsu is a member of the 5 person SM Entertainment group Dong Bang Shin Ki. Xiah JunSu’s vocal prowess (inherited from his mother, who used to be a singer and was also a former Miss Korea) was discovered when he was 12. He trained for 6 years in SM Entertainment before debuting as part of DBSK. Xiah wanted to be a soccer player in early life but after seeing H.O.T perform the song Candy on TV in elementary school, his new dream was to sing on stage. He has said in an interview that if he were to come back in another life, he would definitely come back and be a soccer player. Xiah has always been one of the main and most noticed singer along with HERO in DBSK. He is usually requested to sing on almost every show he goes on, whether he is on his own, or with the group, because of his ‘Angelic Voice’ as it has been described. He is usually praised for his voice in interviews and on television shows. Among the members of the group, he is also one of the best dancers, second to U-Know, the leader and the best dancer of the group. Xiah has been praised for his dancing skills on many occasions. In November 2007, a commercial was released featuring numerous Korean pop stars, such as BoA and himself which formed the band Anyband. They had released a single in the same month. Xiah’s personality within the group has always been the pure and innocent cutie/angel. In the group, the members always call him the pure, innocent and bright boy (in many interviews throughout his career, the other members always say he is very pure and angelic, always making everyone happy).
