The host is making himself look dumb, he needs to educate himself.

Sigh,I'm so damn tired of reading about racists events, whether it's towards Asians,Black people,Latinos, etc. This is disturbing and uncomfortable.I swear, the human race is one big failure.

As a Brazilian-American, this doesn't surprise me. It's not rare to see jokes that would never fly in the states. My parents are both Brazilian and they still can't see why black face is offensive, that kind of stuff is so normalized in comedy.

Pathetic that he does this right in front of them and their translator, as if either of them would find it funny. Offensive jokes aren't bad, but they have to have proper timing and at least give some sort of point, he was just being tasteless.

I don't know what is worse; people who are openly and knowingly racist, or people who are ignorant enough not to understand that they are racist. At least the former group has enough self-knowledge to know what they are and do not deny it to themselves and others. People belonging to the latter group are pathetic because they have not explored their own thoughts enough to recognize that they are racist. What does it say about a person who doesn't have enough self-awareness to know what's going on in his head?

KARD must have felt pretty shitty standing up there on stage. Weird that this happens in Brazil which has a sizeable minority of Japanese people. One would think they are used to East Asian looking people. In my country there would have been a massive outrage as a result of what the host said, and he would have been fired on the spot.

I hope that their Brazilian fans and even their international fans flood their site by leaving messages on their way of thinking

I'm pretty sure it was something from vaudeville, which I don't think happened down there, so I don't think it has any historical significance to them. I've never actually asked a fully black Brazilian about it though

*Sigh* TBH as an Asia in America, I get jokes like that all the time, but from other Asians. Which is hilarious, yes, but I'm almost never exposed to THIS level of racism. It's always super jarring, but I'm glad that so many people are speaking out about it, it's kind of inspiring:yesr:

Fucked up. Brazil does have bigger priorities, such as the murder rate being off the charts. The very and openly corrupted government. So I can see why they don't even care to watch their words and educate themselves. Plus their education system is more shit than the US, which is saying something.

But question is, why do KPOP fans get outraged when racism is directed towards Koreans but ignore/excuse it when Koreans are racist to other ethnicity?

Korean fans might ignore it, but few international fans do, except on rare occasion (Boombayah). Usually there's a lot of backlash.
