The exact whereabouts of Korean President Park Geun-Hye during the 7 hours of Sewol Ferry sinking back in 2014 is still a mystery.
However, a Korean-American news outlet, 'Sunday Journal' has reported on December 21, a new theory that might explain where the President was and what she was doing. According to the 'Sunday Journal,' someone has provided them with information pertaining to President Park receiving a cosmetic procedure at Lotte Hotel in Seoul, in a VVIP room on the 36th floor.
The report stated that on the morning of the Sewol Ferry incident, President Park called Doctor Kim Young Jae to get the cosmetic procedure. When the news of the Ferry reached the President, she initially decided against the procedure, but later changed her mind and went ahead with it -- a procedure that took about 40 minutes to an hour.
After the procedure, the insider accuses, President Park returned to the Presidential residence to rest. She ordered a mouthwash (a detail that has come out during a recent investigation) to try to alleviate a discomfort she felt from the procedure. When it was time to eat lunch, she was unable to do so because of the pain. The report says that the President then received further information about the ferry accident, got her hair done, and showed up at the first meeting to address the public.
The Sunday Journal also reported that the President's visit to the hotel was captured on CCTV, but the hotel representatives used it to shield itself to avoid an investigation that many chaebols are going through currently.
The timeline this person is describing closely matches the unknown whereabouts of President Park and seems convincing, the Sunday Journal stated.
Reporter Lee Sang Ho, who has been closely investigating Sewol Ferry incident and President Park's scandal since the beginning, tweeted on December 21, that he is now in contact with Sunday Journal and working together with them to further investigate.
