A shocking incident of a college student getting sexually harassed by his fellow students is upsetting many.
According to an October 17 report by Yonhap, a new student at an unnamed University with the surname Kang attended his school's MT (Membership Training; informal student orientation) and fell a victim to sexual harassment.
According to the report, Kang started school in March as a freshman and attended the school's MT. However, at the MT, Kang experienced something terrible. While Kang fell asleep, 4 other students took his top off and put toothpaste all over his bare skin.
The perpetrators also took off Kang's pants and underwear and put toothpaste on his genitals. To make matters worse, they even recorded the entire incident on video.
Kang, who was too shocked by the incident, reported the 4 students for sexual harassment to the police. However, these students were not apologetic at all. Instead, they posted messages of further aggression on social media.
The university also aggravated the situation by not disciplining the 4 students and asking Kang to take medical leave from the school. Kang said in an interview, "Because the school did not do anything about the harassers, I had to continue to see them in lectures ...Honestly, I thought of quitting school because it was too hard."
