Police officers' hard work during the Lunar New Year is acknowledged with gifts from citizens

According to what Jeju Special Self-Governing Provincial Police Agency related on February 10, citizens had left small yet touching gifts on the hood of a police car, which undoubtedly warmed police officers' hearts. ��


The gifts consisted of a short note written on the back of a lottery ticket and four bottles of energy drinks. The note read, "Thank you for working so hard even during the holiday. Happy new year," and was marked with a heart.�

Kim Nam Chul was one police officer to work during the holiday; he had received a report from a 52-year old Kim,�who had his phone stolen on Lunar New Year.�


Officer Kim and others left for the scene straightaway and discovered using CCTV footage that a 56-year-old Jung had stolen the phone. After two hours of searching the vicinity, the police managed to apprehend the robber and return the phone to the original owner.�


Kim Young Ok of the Jeju Police's Public Affairs team relayed happily, "We're overjoyed not only to have captured the criminal through determined investigation and detective work but also that the citizens who saw us work through the holiday nice enough to leave us with touching gifts."�
