Buzz

After claiming the titles of being the youngest ever to win an LPGA tournament event and the youngest ever with a world #1 ranking (both male and female), the South Korean-born New Zealander, Lydia Ko has another youngest title to add. Lydia Ko has now claimed the title as the youngest LPGA major champion by winning the Evian Championship in France.

Closing with an impressive 8-under 63 for a six-stroke victory over Lexi Thompson, Ko showed a flawless final-round display, claiming the title as the youngest major champion in LPGA Tour history.  She also took home a prize of $487,500 for winning the tournament.

"To say that I'm the youngest in history for now, it's so cool. To finish with two birdies, finish on the last 72nd hole, with a birdie, it doesn't happen often, so it's definitely one of the top rounds of my whole entire life, and I'm sure it will be in my career," said Ko after her victory.

Ko, who is 18 years, 4 months and 20 days old, topped the previous youngest major champion record set by American Morgan Pressel, who was 18 years, 10 months and nine days old when she won the 2007 Kraft Nabisco Championship

Congratulations to Lydia Ko!
