7 delicious Korean dishes you can make at home

Buzz
If you ever find yourself asking, "What should I eat today?", then this article should help you out! Korean cuisine is delicious and if you ever wondered how some of your favorite food items are made than today is your lucky day. Check out these 7 delicious Korean dishes you can make at home.

1. Kimbap (??)

Kimbap is a popular Korean dish that is usually served at picnics or any outdoor events. Kimbap literally means "Seaweed Rice." Like the name suggests, seaweed and rice are the main components for Kimbap. The main ingredients of Kimbap usually include fish, meat, eggs, and vegetables.

2. Korean Fried Chicken (???)

The Korean style fried chicken often requires frying the chicken twice resulting in a more crunchy, less greasy dish. Korean style fried chicken is often made with a thinner, crispy-coating unlike most fried chicken styles, and is marinated with a glossy coat of flavoring. The main goal of the Korean-style fried chicken is to create a flavorful, crispy outer coating while maintaining the tenderness of the chicken underneath.

3. Japchae (??)

Japchae is a Korean dish made from sweet potato noodles, stir fried in sesame oil with a variety of meats and vegetables. Japchae is traditional dish served on special occasions, such as parties and gatherings, and is a favorite of many Koreans. Healthy and delicious, what is there not to like about it?

4. Tteokbokki (???)

Tteokbokki, (also known as Ddeokbokki) is an extremely popular snack in Korea and is known for its spicy taste. Made from soft rice cake and sweet red chili sauce, (also known as gochujang), it is probably the most common street vendor food available in Korea. Because of its popularity in Korea, the Korean government has put in an efforts to raise global awareness of this dish. They even gave it an official English name ï¿½ "Topokki"

5. Cheese Buldak (????)

Buldak directly translates into "Fire Chicken." As its name suggests, Buldak is known for its extremely flavorful, spicy taste that will make even the boldest eaters think twice before digging in. Adding cheese to this dish has been a trend recently, as it helps neutralize some of the spicy flavoring. As one of the most mouth-watering dishes on the list, we definitely recommend you try this one out.

6. Korean Ramen (??)

Instant ramen has gained its popularity due to its convenience and preparation speed  without the sacrifice of taste. Korean ramen, often sold in supermarkets, is also affordable and easy to make. Many like to add eggs, meat, or extra vegetables to their ramen. Since Korean ramen is so easy to make, there is no reason for you to not try this dish.

7. Kimchi (??)

Ah and of course, Kimchi. Kimchi has always been the staple of the Korean diet and has recently been making its way around the world recognized globally for its health benefits and its spicy flavoring. Although the basic form of kimchi is made from cabbage and red chili flakes, there are many different variations of kimchi. According to the Kimchi Field Museum in Seoul, (yes, there is a kimchi museum in Korea), there are 187 different types of kimchi. The video above demonstrates how to make the most common, basic kimchi dish. While kimchi does require a little bit of preparation and time to make, we highly recommend you give it a shot.
