This 'Piano Battle' will leave you amazed

Buzz
I've played the piano for over 17 years now, and it's videos like these that make me want to give up playing forever because of my lack of piano godliness.

After fierce competition between hundreds of entries, a piano battle of 3 finalists has taken the Internet by a storm, eliciting amazed responses on SNS. Uploaded on the Facebook page "Pianist Yuh-eun," these videos show three different pianists playing classical masterpieces as well as brilliantly self-composed pieces.

The first video shows Lee Jung Hwan, who played his self-composed piece "Witch House." Without missing a note or a beat, he played skillfully, even tapping along on the piano on the beat for a livelier sound. To give listeners a gentle finale, he ends the piece on a delicate, lighter note (pun intended).

As a sharp contrast from vibrant, lively "With House," the next video shows Kwon Hyuk Sung playing Chopin's Nocturne Op.48 no. 1. As Kwon conveys the weary, darker tone of this piece, you can't help but feel a sense of listlessness as you give Kwon's beautiful version of the piece a listen.

The final video shows Kim Ha Neul playing a mix of Rachmaninov's Sonata No.2, Chopin's Sonata no. 2, and Hermann Necke's Csiks Post. Each piece individually is already impressive, and a mashup of these is just plain legendary.

Viewers were able to show their appreciation by casting their votes for their favorite pianists.I'm probably a little biased when I say that the second video is definitely my favorite, since Chopin has been my hero since I played my very first Nocturne.

Which one of these pieces is your favorite?
