Not many couples withstand the test of Korea's mandatory military service. So when one British girlfriend, who goes by Ali Abbot, sent her Korean boyfriend Kim Jae Jung an enthusiastic and adorable video of aegyo for his birthday while he's in the military, it warmed the hearts of netizens.

18-year-old Abbot posted the video message shown above on YouTube on December 30. In the video, she holds up a written message for Kim with "Love Actually" style. Her message reads, "Honey, you received your present right~? ^^ Happy birthday! During the 7670 days [you've been alive], no matter who you've met, you greatly influenced everyone. The person who makes people smile and happy--Kim Jae Jung. Whenever you're having a difficult or sad time just think this: 'I'm awesome.' Even though you're a babo sometimes heh. Do you know how proud I am of you? Thiiis much! (Makes large gestures) Because I am so proud of you and I love you, and because it's your birthday, I will do aegyo for you. 3, 2, 1."

Her show of aegyo ensues, complete with peace signs, squishy faces, and, "Bbuing bbuing!"s. She ends with, "I did well, right? Kehehe. I love you to death honey, forever. Bbyong!"

Abbot and Kim have been dating ever since February 2013. Her boyfriend makes an appearance in one of her earlier videos she posted in October 2013, shown below.

Netizens have flooded to comment on the cute couple's relationship. Comments on Korean media sites include, "The boyfriend must have been the general of the Righteous Army (guerrilla army that fought against Japan's invasions in the past) in his previous life," and, "Maybe he saved the universe in his previous life." 

Whatever he did, he sure got lucky!
