In an interview with 'Marie Claire', Jeon So Mi stated, "I think it would be okay for me to just live like this without making my debut."

The former IOI member explained, "At first, I lived thinking only about my debut but now I just enjoy life with the mind, 'I'll end up doing something'."

Jeon So Mi was eliminated on JYP Entertainment debut survival program that produced the girl group TWICE. She then participated another competition series 'Produce 101', where she took 1st place and got the opportunity to promote in IOI. However, she is back to being a trainee following the end of IOI's promotions.

The idol star talked about 'Produce 101' and said, "'Produce 101' was really hard. I know how the contestants feel so I watched and cried when they (season 2 contestants) cried. I believe they'll do well."

At first, I was shock that she is willing to give it up despite her hard work just to debut. Then I thought. She's still young and finding her own way. Let her be.

While I am not sure she should be a solo artist right now, she is very popular and she can always continue with the variety shows and even acting, while at the same time doing collaborations with other artists. I am sure that she is tired of the restrictions of being in a girl group and she must be loving the freedom she has had since IOI went their separate ways. I agree with most here that she is best suited as a GG member where she is the leader, but at the same time, she is doing so well right now this way. So why go back to that stressful and restrictive life?

She has a lot of work so i guess its ok, i'll hope see her in a great gg being a leader with a lot of experience like the type of mom-leader-nim :D

Oh no, don't say that. Don't bring yourself down. You're the greatest!

BigBlueagain Saturday, June 24, 2017

JYP's new "it" girl and they have her back in the trainee dungeon. I don't get it. She has the talent, the looks and the attitude to be the next big thing, and they aren't doing anything with her. (smh)

FTJ BigBlueagain Saturday, June 24, 2017

She's not in the dungeon. She's working (Unnies, Idol Drama Operation Team, magazine shoots), that's why she's okay with her current situation.

How to break a talented upcoming star: lesson one. Great job JYP.

wait.. is this article like a year old or something? Did they have it lying around in their hard drive? There's no mention of unnies whatsoever... xD

They probably got it off from Koreaboo. Koreaboo tends to bring posts back from a long ass time ago too lmao. Both websites can be a hot mess. Don't take my word for it, i just find it funny.

intricate lechuga Saturday, June 24, 2017

yeah koreaboo is a bit weird with postings. But lately they have become better as they're putting out more content.

Well, with Somi's current popularity and left and right love calls, its better for her to go as a solo artist/idol..Whatever she does and will do in the future, she does not need to split her earnings (except with her agency), her income will be hers alone.

She's doing so much to me she's already made her debut and is now active idol
