On April 7, Yoo Sang Moo's label Koen Stars�revealed, "Yoo Sang Moo has been diagnosed with stage 3 colorectal cancer. He's scheduled for a surgery on the 10th. He has been quietly engaging in treatment. We, too, just found out (about his health condition) recently."

Yoo Sang Moo reached out to fans via Facebook following the news, and stated, "I became a comedian to give laughter... I'm sorry for only giving concerns. I will make you laugh for sure~~"

The comedian has been on a hiatus since May of 2016 due to sexual assault accusations.�
