One of Korea's most shocking political scandals, regarding former President Park Geun Hye and Choi Soon Sil, will be produced into a film.

Actors Lim Chang Jung, Lee Kyung Young, and Jung Ryeo Won are currently looking into the project, their agencies have stated.

On March 15, OSEN reported that "upcoming film 'Gate' which revolves around Park Geun Hye and Choi Soon Sil's government affairs is working on the cast at the moment."

According to the source, it has been said that director Shin Dong Yup sent over a request to actors Lim Chang Jung and Lee Kyung Young, who acted in his movie 'Untouchable Lawmen' in 2015.

Film 'Gate' will be about an elite prosecutor trying to solve a case when he loses his memory after getting into a car accident. Supposedly, although the movie may contain motives from the actual political scenario, it will be a 'comedy based film' perhaps to ease the tension within the country.

What are your thoughts on this satirical spin? Do you think it's too soon to take such an approach?

I get that they're going for a funnier route to add some comedic relief towards such a serious subject & I can appreciate it, but it does seem a bit too soon to bring it to film.  I'd prefer to see a more profound version w. serious acting regarding the matter down the road, but now isn't the time.

Since the movie isn't directly focusing on the case, and it's going to be a comedy, I don't think it'll ruffle as many feathers as as others think. At first I was surprised to read the headline, because we all know Korea tries to separate its politics from its entertainment, and Koreans think it's wrong for celebs to give their opinion on controversial matters. I was actually hoping for this film to kind of take the first step in changing that. But I don't think it will.

Already? Shouldn't they wait like 20 years or so before approaching this idea?

TryBrain Wednesday, March 15, 2017

And it's a comedy too?

Do not go see this propaganda!

Dumb. Its too soon. I know its hard to believe but Park Geun Hye has supporters too, the last thing the country needs is more divisive content.
