Black Pink is scheduled to perform at a university festival.

According to a representative from YG Entertainment on March 14, the girl group recently confirmed to attend a university festival. This is the first time Black Pink is performing at an event other than music programs and award shows. In fact, it's revealed that YG has continuously rejected offers to perform at various events.

The reason behind their change in the decision for Black Pink's attendance is to allow the group to closely communicate with the public prior to their comeback in May.

I don't get why YG would continuously reject offers for their artists to perform at events. They need to get out more and promote more! Plus it is interesting how it is very rare for a YG artist to be part of any music festivals/concerts with other artists as well.

I generally think it is a good thing that they get out there. However, why do I feel as though they (and others) are following TWICE? I hope they feel they truly are ready. On the concert stage, they must be different. Show us something we haven't seen yet!Good luck to them!

You do know that YG's artists not performing at these shows in the past is actually outside of the norm for idol groups right? Idols have always performed at events. Many many years before Twice existed and I'm pretty sure long after since it's a way to connect with fans and make money.

YGE artists as well as other established artists often performs at uni festivals. In south korea, uni festivals are of massive scale and it allows artists to tap into a more diverse and mature market than the fans at music shows who tends to be younger. search akaraka on Youtube to see fancams

Looks like YG is getting smart and realizing his acts need to get public exposure in order to be successful. They can't ride on YG and Big Bang's name alone. They need to be promoting.
