Super Junior's Leeteuk pointed out the differences in the MCs whom he has worked with over the years on the February 23 episode of KBS's 'Happy Together'!

The singer has worked with many of the top MCs on various shows, and talked about a book that he read that analyzed their traits. He mentioned some of the unique traits of the MCs. From his own personal experience he stated, "Kang Ho Dong likes to shout. He told me to shout with him for ten years."  Leeteuk and Kang Ho Dong have a long history together on 'Star King.'

Following that, he said the book coined Shin Dong Yup as, "the dedicated genius," who has a keen sense of attracting a crowd. He also talked about Yoo Jae Suk, whom the book described as, "talking constantly while showing respect." This drew laughter from the panel including from Yoo Jae Suk himself.

Leeteuk then went on to describe the different reactions they make such as clapping or throwing in random comments in between conversations, making the viewers laugh.

the clapping thing i will never understand about korean variety. they always look like mentally retarded fools when they clap instead of laugh. like, hardly nobody acts like that in real life

hiroonakamura Friday, February 24, 2017

AND it seems rather fake too

k_kid hiroonakamura Friday, February 24, 2017

There are people that do clap when they laugh. I have a bunch of black friends in LA that clap while laughing.

Leeteuk hopefully becomes one of top mcs... he is mostly comfortable around guests like yoo jae sook and has wit for making appropiate comments... he is perverted like Dongyup (lol) and he can surely be loud and excitinng like Hodong ... he works so hard he deserves everything best 💗

i fall for shindongyup 's perverted sense of humour lol just kidding (not 100% though ;D) he can be serious and warm and deep at the right time too , so he is the best for me

Leeteuk really shows respect to everyone. Hope he can also be one of the best MC and entertainer! <3

Each MC has their own charm, and their effectiveness depends on the people that they worked with. Like, some people might look "good" with Jaesuk, but they shine more when they are with Hodong.

You go to Jaesuk for proper interviews but if you want to go crazy and be in with the joke, you go to HoDong.

I know Leeteuk is a polished idol at this point, and has been for years of course. But sometimes I wonder if people realize just how important these types of interviews and questions are for him. At this point, it's fairly obvious what his post SUJU career will be- and before anyone says anything, NO, I am not saying that SUJU is breaking up or quitting anytime soon. But all these idols have to find a sub-trade apart from their groups, or a project or career to follow once that day does come. For Leeteuk, that role of becoming a famous MC has been in the works for some time now. He's been growing and learning, rubbing shoulders with some of the best in the business, and answers like these are essential for two reasons. 1) He's showing his knowledge of the skill-set as well as the importance of knowing why different MCs are the way they are, and 2) He's showing respect to people who have, are currently, and will in the future help solidify his position in a more permanent setting when he takes on such a role. For now, he's had some small shows of his own, but also a lot of guest roles and hosting positions for awards programs. But one day, I think we all know that Leeteuk will find some sort of permanent position on at least one or more television shows. He and Heechul were both born to do it, even though both have quite a different style and skill set for their particular hosting positions.

While it looked obvious to an ELF (in hiatus, but waiting for CB) like me, thanks for writing all this! Leeteuk (and Heechul) are working hard, but they're good at what they do and it's great to see them placing themselves in the industry as MCs.

Proof that his eleven years of being a celebrity was not wasted on senseless things celebrities are expected to have done. He studied and persevered that's why he's so successful. A lot of KPop fans forget that he is one of the richest idols out there.

Kpoploxer1 Thursday, February 23, 2017

for me it would be yoo jae suk, kang ho dong, and the old Boom

Father_3Spoon Thursday, February 23, 2017

Literally my three favorite MCs. They're all so good at making me laugh

Mary_B13 Father_3Spoon Thursday, February 23, 2017

I know... Hahah I feel like KAng Ho DOng just brings that lively energ y I love. Jae SUk is soo good at making hilarious comments and leading gags among cast members. Then Shin Dong Yup is just so hilarious I don't know if it's because he hosted witch hunt but I always get this like Yahae feel from his jokes. ( I don't really know how to translate it because it doesn't mean pervy, maybe like sexual?)

Father_3Spoon Mary_B13 Friday, February 24, 2017

They all create very different, yet funny atmospheres. I know what you mean though about Shin Dong Yup. I think it's translated like sexual, but not in a bad, distasteful way.

Kingofallnations Thursday, February 23, 2017

This may be random, but I always got the impression that Leeteuk is such a nice genuine guy

kimmiefonze Thursday, February 23, 2017

Ho Dong does the slapstick comedy and over-the-top shows; Dong Yup operates on manly charms and wit; Jae Suk relies on being trust and provides a safe environment for his guests.
