The producers of Mnet's 'School Rapper' delivered an official statement regarding Yang Hong Won or "Young B"s controversy.

Following the second episode of the new rapper competition program, Yang Hong Won gained attention for his outstanding performance but also for his controversial past involving underage drinking, smoking, and school violence.

Another contestant Jang Yoon Joon, who came under fire for the similar reasons after the first episode, ultimately stepped down from the show.

On February 22, the producers of 'School Rapper' made an official announcement regarding Yang Hong Won.

The producers stated, "Contestant Yang Hong Won accepts his past wrongdoings and is currently reflecting his actions. He said he wasn't able to apologize to all the victims who were hurt by his mistakes after he started dreaming of becoming a rapper. He's still proving himself through continuous reflection and hard effort. Please allow Yang Hong Won to show himself grow as he's trying hard to stand up through the new opportunity. Please watch him with a pleasant perspective."

Unlike Jang Yoon Joon, Yang Hong Won will be continuing on the competition despite the ongoing criticism.

Talent trumps everything, even misbehaviour. Meh. Still wished JYJ was back, I liked that he never pretended to be anything else but himself.

I have watched the first 2 episodes of this show and I was laughing the entire time. Some of them don't look like rappers but nerds. I like fatty though. He was good.

Faith_1299 Thursday, February 23, 2017

I really want to know what goes on in their mind. How can you drink underage, bully others, and etc? Do they think all their wrongdoings will disappear all of a sudden when they try to achieve their dreams? Stop hanging out with the wrong crowd and learn how to say no to peer pressure. It's easier said than done but trust me.... bad decisions will always come back to haunt you.

sorry little miss perfect not everyone is a goody two shoes like you

Faith_1299 bulgogitittiess Thursday, March 2, 2017

I didn't mean to make it sound like I was a "goody two shoes". I make mistakes and I say stupid stuff too. Why are you offended by my comment?

Mavane Thursday, February 23, 2017

So because Yang HongWon already is a bit famous and doesn't a politician father who resigned he can stay on the show, but Jang YongJoon can't ?That's messed up Mnet...

Keyla_Tuan Mavane Friday, February 24, 2017

As far as I know, Jang YongJoon decided to step down from the show, it was his decision. http://www.allkpop.com/article/2017/02/school-rapper-jang-yong-joon-ultimately-steps-down-from-show

Mavane Keyla_Tuan Friday, February 24, 2017

I am aware of that but he surely must have felt the need and pressure to since his dad himself resigned from his job to take responsability.

JessieibtJ Wednesday, February 22, 2017

so what is his name actually? Yang Hong Won? Yang Hong Sung? Yang Hong Suk?"Yang Hong Won gained attention""Please allow Yang Hong Sung to show""Yang Hong Suk will be continuing"

Tomochi Wednesday, February 22, 2017

They honestly should bring back Jang Yoon Joon at this point. That kid handled the situation way better and even wrote a very mature apology himself. I honestly really feel bad for him.

D_BoyYoongi Tomochi Thursday, February 23, 2017

I think he decided to leave as he doesn't need to show anymore, Swings is probably going to sign him so there would be no point continuing on after all that. But man, he was amazing at rapping.

Tomochi D_BoyYoongi Saturday, February 25, 2017

Yeah, he had potential and I also think Swings won't easily let go of him

Chocolatefudge Wednesday, February 22, 2017

Please make a letter like the other boy, don't asked mnet to apologize for your mistake.

Winston Wednesday, February 22, 2017

That's why RAPPING and HIP HOP seems to have a bad image in Korea, because when issues like that happen, people associate Rapping and DISSING with Hate, rebellious behavior, rude, anger and bullying and such. I know its not true with some rappers even coming from Seoul University and write raps that inspire younger people but really its the bad sheep that grabs the headlines and make it look bad.

kpop93liner Wednesday, February 22, 2017

So basically they are okay with bullying as long as you apologize?? What types of bullshit is that! I can not even believe they had the nerve to even released this bullshit and expected people to be okay with the fact that he just beat up some people and took people money for no reason except for the fact that he just wanted to! They can not be serious with this bullshit! Bullying is bullying no matter how you look at it and apologizing is not gonna make it okay that he hurt people. He's reflecting on his actions my ass! This whole statement is stupid!!

crowboy kpop93liner Wednesday, February 22, 2017

I wonder when he bullied people, though. Bullying isn't something that should implicate you for the rest of your life if the bad behaviour doesn't transition to other bad behaviours down the line (abuse, etc.). Sometimes kids are assholes, but I'd rather a bad kid grow into a good adult than for a bad kid not to be given a chance and grow into an even worse adult. Hopefully the children he bullied are okay.

NORM crowboy Wednesday, February 22, 2017

It's students from his current school that called him out as a bully, & K-high schools are probs 3/4yrs so its not exactly a past incident. His apology sounds like he never apologized b4 he came on the show. I dont think past bad behaviours should haunt ur future, but he should have been punished if this was recent/still happening b4 he applied or else he might grow up thinking he can get away with such.
