Winter is coming and idols are bundling up in their very best outfits. Recently, Nara of Hello Venus and Sooyoung of Girls' Generation were seen rocking the same lavish, designer knit trench coat that may be of the same design but shows off their unique styles due to their different color choices. While both girls went for that perfect winter look, only one wore it better!
Hello Venus's Nara was seen sporting her chic style at the movie premiere of 'Girl's World' and she looked glamorous. Her long, melange gray turtleneck looks stylish with the navy blue-colored jacket while also creating a comfortable look. However, she appears to be free of ornate jewelry, makeup, and hairstyle. Although I give her props for the clean and natural approach, I feel a nice scarf or some jewelry on her wrists and hands would really complete the look. I do like how she drapes her dark hair over one ear which adds a dash of sexiness.
Sooyoung really brings the outfit together with her glamorous style. Her pinstripe shirt goes hand-in-hand with the coat's gray color and striped design. Instead of going for the, as I like to call it, "flasher approach" and simply showing off her legs like most girls would, Sooyoung did a unique but sensible thing by pairing it with an almost ankle-length skirt.
Looking twice, I feel it may be a one-piece as you can see the matching white turtleneck creeping up from underneath her blue pinstripe shirt and near her wrists. The color combination also matches well with her makeup and hair. Her orangish hair and nude lipstick are calm but stand out quite well with her outfit in its entirely.
Sooyoung also follows the same route as Nara by having little to no accessories and only using bold colors, simplistic designs, and large pieces to create her entire look. I also enjoy her ankle-high tan boots. She creates a style with a totally different atmosphere in comparison.
Overall, the win goes to Girls' Generation's Sooyoung. Her vibrant additional pieces and glamorous style would really impress everyone who looks her way. The knit trench coat complements her outfit and doesn't distract or cover up her killer fashion sense. While I prefer Nara's color choice for the coat, Sooyoung creatively uses her dark-bright color combinations to stand out among the drab winter grays and blacks. Who do you think wore it better?
