Following the recent controversy involving Kim Jong Kook and Song Ji Hyo's leave, the producers of the hit variety show have decided to end on good terms. On December 16, PD Lee Hwan Jin told media outlets, "The members and producers had an emergency meeting in Seoul today."

He continued, "The members got together and cleared up the misunderstandings that arose until now. After discussion with Kim Jong Kook, Song Ji Hyo, the other members, and the producers, we've decided to finish 'Running Man' at the end of February. We'll do our best until the end for the viewers who've always given us such big support."

'Running Man' premiered on July 11, 2010 and is one of the longest-running variety shows on Korean television. What are your thoughts on the news?

I am think it would be a nice wrap up if RM can invite all the former cast members, like Song Joong Ki and After School Lizzy for a Massive 2 Episode ending. But with SJK's packed schedule he is likely to be booked for the whole year of 2017 already. the last episode has to be a 2 part overnight special of bonding between the older cast members i feel. SJK said he would return when he left the show, but he has only made a 10minute appearance to deliver coffee with Jo In Sung after his army discharge. and not really appear on RM as a guest after his discharge.

it isn't surprising because running man has been struggling in rating for a while now. Like x-man and family outing they haven't really tried to fix it and kept using the same formula in hopes it will pan out. it is sad because i am a fan but the director and producer needs to understand that they can't make these type of shows anymore.

We knew this was coming considering it's recent run. I'll still miss this show, it was honestly one of the best during it's peak and the cast were perfect. Thanks for a good 6-7 years Running Man fam!

just take a Running Man to another platform like Youtube. and aim for the international viewer.produce their own games and hire thea good subber just like others youtuber, examples succesful youtuber that they take as a guide line is Fine bros.

the problem with that is that all the people in running man has contracts with different agencies which will prevent them in doing something like that. the same thing as with the entire staff members. on top of that SBS wouldn't allow that to happen
