Go Kyung Pyo reveals how he lost 33 pounds without giving up food

Go Kyung Pyo discussed his weight loss method during a recent interview. 


BizEnter interviewed the actor recently since the wrap-up of SBS drama, 'Incarnation of Jealousy.' 


During the conversation, Go Kyung Pyo was asked about his weight loss photo that drew a lot of attention online. When asked about how he lost so much weight, he said, "I'm sure everyone knows how to, but I exercised diligently and quit drinking and late-night snacks.


I just did what everyone knows. It's not as hard as you think. I took a little shortcut...I ran and walked about 3-4 km a day. I ran then walked and ran again to increase my heart rate. I ran as fast as I could then walked and repeated it."

Go Kyung Pyo also discussed the diet, saying, "You don't have to stop eating carbs. If you don't eat any carbs, you'll gain the weight back and your body can release harmful hormones....I didn't change my diet. Maybe it's because of that, I didn't gain the weight back. Even with that, I lost weight easily. My highest weight and lowest weight difference is about 15 kgs (33 lbs)."


He also talked about his thoughts on exercising, stating, "I don't work out aggressively and just try to meet my goal. One thing I want to say though is that I wish people wouldn't run on the treadmill indoors. Just focusing on running instead of doing it while watching TV makes a big different. Do it moderately so you can enjoy it."

He followed loosely the HITT model that's why he loses weight effectively. Running outside is actually better than running on treadmills. But if you must be indoors, try a machine that doesn't have a fixed speed (or hard to modify speed mid-way like a treadmill). For example the cycling machine is good for HITT: you cycle as fast as you humanly could for 10 seconds, then you cycle slowly for another 10 second (but don't stop altogether). Repeat for 30-45min. It's much more tiring and effective than running on treadmills.

This is actually work, i did the same thing and drop like 20 pound...but i dropped my weight a bit slower since i am just working out twice a week...but the point this method is maintainable..

I think when he said don't run indoors it's more on you can get more refreshing air like that. You can manipulate your running speed on treadmills. Some people like need the gym because by the time they're done with office hours it is late.

I also want to add to this that to some people losing weight takes longer than others. But in the end you WILL lose weight. The most common thing that I have seen why people give up is because they don't get the results they want in a certain time. "But I exercised as much as the other person and ate as much, why are they losing weight but not me?". Because of age, muscle mass, intensity etc. If you don't get results right away, DON'T GIVE UP. It might take weeks sometimes for results to show up, especially at the beginning. The most important thing is that you stick to your exercises and healthy diet. I'LL SAY IT ONCE AGAIN! NEVER GIVE UP!
