SCARLET HEART: RYEO -- EPISODE 19

"No! First 4minute, then B2ST, then Rainbow? 2016 is so cruel!"

While So tightens the reins, things fall apart.

There were a million plot holes here. I'm almost dreading the finale, but let's get to the issues:

Jung's still around, being a source of strength for Baek Ah, as well as taking Hae Soo away. I like Prince Jung since he seems to have a good head on his shoulders. I thought it was interesting that they chose to use him as the barrier to romance, but I think it could have been better played. He's not always around, nor do they seem to be overly demonstrative as friends or otherwise. Unless they're trying for subtlety, it seems rushed. Besides, wasn't Jung exiled?

The ghost of Chae Ryung hangs over everything and ruins Hae Soo and So's relationship. I can understand not wanting to accept that she was a spy, but letting her memory come between her and a guy? That's holding on too tightly. While I'm not happy with her death either (What are you supposed to do as a slave? Defy orders?), but I'm not sure I buy it.

"You missed a spot"

So and Hae Soo's romance is now on the skids, but did we expect anything else? Their relationship has been push and pull from the start, and I'm really not surprised. I've commented before on how they really didn't get enough couple time, and this is the culmination. I think it was largely wishful that they could be together. Now we do have one episode left -- maybe they can patch things up by next episode, but I'm not holding my breath.

I'm surprised Wook is even still around. With the battles he and So had over Hae Soo and the barely restrained jealousy -- not to mention Wook's complicity in putting Yo the Usurper on the throne. One would think him and Prince Won would be some of the first royals executed? Wook just got a confined-to-quarters order, but if So can't truly forgive him, how is he still alive?

Hae Soo is looking forward to blogging about all the palace gossip when she leaves.

And again the show decides to add to the body count. This time with the unnecessary death of Woo Hee. While not a fan of the acting, I didn't see much of a point to her death. Yo is dead, King So freed the slaves; I didn't see much of a reason for her to die. She could have rallied her people and reassured everyone that they'd be full citizens of Goryeo. That their queen was happy, and her marriage to Baek Ah would proceed. But no, that's not going to happen, because this show likes to rip happiness from its characters.

With a single episode left, and everyone dead or miserable, is there hope for an ending that might satisfy? I'm hoping Hae Soo gets back to her own time, and maybe the lessons learned in Goryeo might have some relevance to her life now, though my takeaways didn't seem to have much of a lesson other than "life sucks." Maybe they'll be able to handle that adroitly. There's not much left for Hae Soo, so I can see a clean break with Goryeo. Here's hoping they saved the best for last!

Don't hate me. Listen to me out. As much as I'm totally addicted to this drama there are so many flaws. I can't be the only one who has to pause every now and then and try to comprehend what I'm watching. The beginning episodes were chicken soup for the soul but later on it ended up being tar for the soul. I feel like poop every time I'm done an episode because of the cruelty the characters must face to survive. I understand that there must be tragic parts within the drama but I wish there were more happy/funny/cute moments to balance it out just like the beginning. All we need for the last episode is Wang Soin the future.

Your reviews are always so useless omg story is moving at the speed of light and you give it 5? I won't even mention anything about the performance, really. I seriously can't wait for your overall points for tomorrow....... Wook needs to be around because he is the father of the 6th King of Goryeo, reason why he can't be killed yet. The end of Soo/So's relationship was only a culmination of many things. Chaeryoung had a big impact in it, because Hae Soo didn't have many people on her side but despite the betrayal, Chaeryoung represented a support to her. It was like she was her sister and we can't just ask someone to forget a sister, can we? But as I said, a lot of factors contributed to the end of So/Soo's relationship. It was meant to happen. It was meant to be. So married Yeonhwa. So discovered that Soo had wanted to marry Wook. It was the palace that was killing her. I really can't blame her for any of this. Everyone has their breaking point. I was a bit confused of why Woohee had to die, THEN I used my brain and I actually did some research (because when you watch a historical drama, you have to do a lot of researches pft) but she needed to die in this case. The drama's Gods could have found a way, but I understand why her death was a need to bring some coherence to what was happening. To Goryeo's poeople, Baekje's people were a threat (Silla too) because they never considered themselves as part of Goryeo. Do you know what happens when someone from Baekje is part of the King's court? It makes people of Goryeo insecure with their future and how much Baekje's people are going to get from the King. Now imagine if they found out that Baek Ah (who is already half Silla and someone their King trusts) is married to someone from Baekje, not only someone but their princess! That would be tragic for Baek Ah, because they would revolt against their King. Do you think Baek Ah would be safe like this? It's obvious that Woohee didn't want any of this. Plus, Baeje's people are dying and they are revolved against Goryeo's King because they have hope for a better future. Royals make their people even more strong, because it gives them a more stable hope and more strength to fight against their ideals. So because of Woohee, her people would revolt against Wang So, Goryeo and Baek Ah would be in the middle of this too. The only way to escape this was for her to kill herself in front of her people, so they lose their "strength" and don't hurt Baek Ah. Like this, people of Goryeo also don't find out that Baek Ah planned to marry Woohee and everyone would be safe. So I wouldn't say that her death wasn't necessary!Even if I never like your reviews, I always come here to comment. This is my sad reality lol
