Producer explains why Hyosung was picked to host 'Video Star'

Secret's Hyosung was recently chosen as the new maknae show host of 'Video Star.'

Hyosung has been active not only as a singer but also through variety shows and in acting. And now, she begins a new chapter as a TV show host! Why was she picked as the new MC?

MBC Every1's 'Video Star' producer Lee Yoo Jung revealed in an interview on October 4 with Daily Sports, "Cao Lu had to leave the show to focus on the filming of 'Missing 9', a new MBC drama, and we looked for a new MC among many candidates. We needed someone who could stand strong among the aggressive MCs already on the show while maintaining her own uniqueness. I think Hyosung fits into that perfectly."

Producer Lee continued, "The title of the show is 'Video Star' but we often heard people joke around saying that our visual was lacking; I think with Hyosung joining, we will definitely have someone in charge of the visual. There were many great candidates, but I think highly of Hyosung's potential. She will bring loveliness to the show."

It is Hyosung's 8th year since her debut, and her network is vast as she is known to have great connections and relationships with many in the industry. Viewers and fellow entertainment people love her. Producer Lee added, "Hyosung has great passion and perseverance for work, and she is going to have awesome chemistry with other show hosts. Viewers will be impressed with her realness and honesty." He further explained, "Kim Sook, Park Na Rae, Park So Hyun, and other MCs are excited for Hyosung to join since they already have a friendly relationship and think highly of her. They are very welcoming. Please be excited for the show's revamp."

A spin-off talk show of 'Radio Star' -- 'Video Star' aims to be even more aggressive while being funny. It airs on Tuesdays at 8:30PM on MBC Every1 channel. The first episode with Hyosung will be aired in the middle of October.
